-intuition-helga-sigurdardottirIn this follow-up dream to yesterday’s post, Apart and Together, Jeane receives further guidance on how to bring the different inner parts of herself, which she has separated out, back together. In fact, this second dream actually shows her an example of what is preventing her, through the scenario of not listening to her intuition, or inner guidance. And we all are guilty of this: we don’t trust our intuition because it seems “mysterious.” Yet it works much faster than our brains do, and it takes into account signals and energies that we haven’t begun to sort out. Yet it does so in an instant and offers us guidance. It’s a type of knowing we should reward and be conscious of, not dismiss. (At the end of this post there are instructions and a link to download this recording to your computer.)

Jeane: So in the next dream I’ve traveled to New York, and I’m going to be staying there maybe for about a year, and I don’t have a place to stay yet and it can be hard finding a place in New York.

And I seem to have stopped at the house of these people, I’ve gone into their living room and apparently they’re going to have a room to rent. And I get this sense of the family and I just really like their energy. So then I ask to see the room but they haven’t quite finished the room and they want me to rent it without having seen it. And I feel like I can’t do that.

I walk out the door and I see these other people coming running with the paper in their hand to rent the room, and what they’ve done is they’ve gone down to the basement area, or the bottom level of the house, and they’re peeking in a window that has plastic or something covering up the windows because the room’s being finished.

And they’re going over to peek in, but I decide not to do that because I feel like I know myself well enough to know that if I’m going to live in a room I need to see it. And I also realize that I’m not sure yet where this place is in relationship to what I’ll be doing in the city, because that’s unclear yet.

So I travel on to where I’m staying in the city and I pick up a newspaper and I start looking for where they’re doing rentals, and then I realize there are so many different sections of New York that I used to know exactly where to go to rent in New York, but something has changed on the dream level in that sense, so those places seem to not be where I go anymore.

And so I’ve kind of gotten the newspaper and I’ve mapped out some areas where I would go look, but it’s like I don’t have my glasses on and it’s not really clear yet so I just notice them generally.

Then I put down the newspaper. I walk over to a different area of the house where I’m staying and I realize there is someone I could even room with, but I’m not sure that’s the right thing to do right now, either, so I just kind of let go of it.

And I turn around and then I go over and I see some kids have come in and are playing, and they’ve come back from swimming, so I walk over to them and one of them has set down some goggles and nose plugs and stuff that I’ve just ordered that they use on their swim team or whatever.

So I go over to ask them: I said, “I’ve ordered those, but how do they work for you?”, because I want to hear how they work. They seem to work fine, so that’s when I wake up.

John: Well, we’ll have to see if I can figure out the last part, but the first part has to do with you in response or in answer to how to pull those other parts of yourself together.

It’s like there is a missing piece that keeps those from coming together. And the missing piece has to do with a pattern, and the pattern is that you have to look before you can do anything. In other words, if you’d have followed your instinct you could have gotten the room. Some part of you just knows whether that makes sense or not. Somehow you can detect this energetically, but if you have to look you weaken yourself.

And the propensity of thinking that one has to look because that’s common sense, and that’s what everybody does, and this is how the world works, and this is how you’ve gotten adjusted and adapted to having to function in a world that’s like that – where everyone takes a look at things before they make decisions. You have numbed yourself.

That process may seem like it gives you a certain degree of balance or something, or seems to relieve an edge or something, but what it does is it holds you back. You have a part of yourself that can just naturally access, that can just naturally know.

Now, that’s interesting because that part of you that can just naturally know, you don’t describe it as something in your bones, you describe it as it lies within the hiddenness – because it doesn’t involve anything to wake it up. It’s something that you can access in this way without any information.

So where the dichotomy exists is there is a knowingness, there is an attention which is important for you to catch up with, but in the malaise of all things that are presented for you to look at, you have yet to figure out precisely what not to look at, and what you have to look at.

In other words, you’re still covering too big of a gamut, and when you cover too big of a gamut you’re keeping yourself checked out and weakened. So that the elements and aspects in the first dream don’t get properly pulled together, in terms of a greater wholeness that you are able to carry.

Now, what was the last part of your dream? I haven’t figured how that fits.

Jeane: Well, in the last part I’ve gone over to some little girls who’ve come back from swim team and they’ve laid some goggles and nose clips and stuff on the ground, and so I’m asking them how they work for them because I’m getting some for my swimming and I want to know how they work.

John: This seems to be a kind of inquiry, or a hint at a type of inquiry, that is something that is important to do. So it’s a contrast sense, is what it is. You’re contrasting vibrationally what it feels like to be able to get an answer in this way to something that is important, that serves a need that is essential in some capacity with how you are.

And you’re meant to be able to feel that vibration versus the vibration that has to do with being able to make a decision, or a determination, or to be able to act in a way without having to rely upon lesser-self characteristics and creature-comfort habituations, or something like that. Or, in other words, having to look.

So, you have the two opposing energies. What the other felt like in terms of looking and then not looking, and what this feels like in terms of getting the information you need in order to make and do something in an informed way – and how that feels as it is necessary and as it’s important.

In other words, you revealed these various parts of yourself that create the whole sense of travel and motion and action, and such, that can come together in a deep quietness that can shift you into a natural knowingness.

But in order for this to occur, the second dream lays out the conundrum or the predicament that you are subjecting yourself to, that you feel that you have to do, that is kind of a reverb quality in your nature thinking you have to do this. And what this does is this holds you back from your hiddenness, holds you back from being able to properly identify where that is important in terms of actual need, rather than perceptions that involve a lot of unnecessary doingness. Complicated dreaming.

imgresWe have spoken before about the concept that all the characters in our dreams are aspects of us – young and old, male and female, friend or foe. Here is a great example of that, as John shows how the people in Jeane’s dream are different sides of her inner self. By splitting them into specific attributes, it can be seen more clearly where help is, and where resistance is. And it also allows our different parts to communicate with one another in a way that is most conducive to everyone getting the message. (At the end of this post there are instructions and a link to download this recording to your computer.)

Jeane: In my first dream it feels like I’m someplace where there’s a series of islands connected by water and it feels like I’m traveling from one to the other, or to some of the other islands, to hide certain people or something. The way I travel and not get caught is that there are these little discs that almost have a little jet energy that comes out of them somewhere, and it’s like if I stand in the energy field of them they can take me very fast from one place to the other.

I just seem to be taking people that are hiding a bit from the authorities. And there’s someone that’s helping me, that’s never very clear to me exactly what form he has, and at one point I want to come back and I’m still trying to stay out of the circle of the authorities who seem to be portrayed in black, although I don’t see them as negative, it’s almost like they’re just the authorities.

And I want to connect with you, but the problem I have is that you’re more connected with the police or the authorities than you are with what I’m doing, and the only reason I can figure that out is that the person who’s helping me comes from a tradition that not only has a background in our tradition but, like me, also has some background in A Course in Miracles.

So that’s the only distinction I can really seem to make and, because of that, it feels like that when I transport these people and kind of hide them around the islands a little bit, that again I’m doing it in a way where I have to stay kind of hidden.

John: You’re jambling all the parts.

You have the part that needs to stay hidden, you have the part that has to connect with a particular kind of energy that you feel is important for whatever your needs are, you have the part of you that is being helped by something that seems to have a deeper agenda of its own, and then you have this whole thing in a scenario in which all of these parts are at play – but not necessarily do they yet work cohesively together, but they are all at play.

And, as a consequence, this creates a sense of traveling. If they were all in a fullness, or naturalness, in your nature, you wouldn’t have the sense of traveling. You create the sense of traveling because there’s the part that you’re having to help, that is helping you in other words, that you don’t necessarily know what that is but you accept that help.

There’s a part of you that’s looking for me, that’s traveling trying to find me, and then there’s the part of yourself that has to remain hidden in order to help something further – so that it can get transported along.

So, you take these various parts and the part that needs to remain hidden so that something can be further transported along, so that it can find a safety, so that it can evolve as it needs to evolve.

The higher octave of that, in terms of a greater completeness of your being, is the idea of being able to love without leaving traces. In other words, if what you did was right out in the open then, because everything is at its depth just energetic, then it would have an element or a substance or it would have a type of identification that would undermine its ability to free flow in a way that enhances this part that needs to awaken.

And it awakens best by the fact that it can take in something that kind of comes through a blindside of its nature, or a backdoor or something, that wouldn’t be possible if you pushed it in the person’s face, or in your own face, in the same way everything else is pushed in your face -having to ponder it in an up and down fashion of some sort, because that kind of approach would have you formulating decisions that are based upon perceptions, instead of decisions that are based upon an inner knowingness that you’re catching up with.

In a sense some of that is also true in terms of the fact that you’re being helped, that you yourself are being helped, that you’re part of a connective lineage and connective flow, that you know that about the way life is. And that this has something to do with how it is that you’re able to be able to, as we call it, love without leaving traces, something about that is helping you, like it’s a lineage, or a force, or an energetic that you have some sort of indirect understanding or relationship with.

Simultaneously, the connection to something where you’re trying to find or catch up with me, each of these things create this quality of traveling. That higher octave is representing the basis, or the means, by which a certain insight is able to open up in relationship to how it is that you’re meant to be.

So it’s a kind of unusual dream in that you have taken and scattered yourself, in a few ways, in order to pull it together.

magnetic_egg_the_dance_of_life_giohorusWhat does it mean when simple, everyday actions become complicated or impossible in a dream scenario? Here’s a perfect example: Jeane is trying to buy bread, a deep symbolic image in her spiritual journey, but she can’t get help, and then it even becomes difficult to exit the market she is in. It shows the inner struggle, because even though she has found in the store what she truly wants, part of her is unwilling to help her get it. That’s why we need to choose our journey constantly, to convince all the inner parts of us that it’s truly what we want. (At the end of this post there are instructions and a link to download this recording to your computer.)

Jeane: In this next little scenario it feels like I’ve gone to… it’s almost like some kind of a fair, or a market going on. It’s somewhat established because there are like semi-buildings as well as stalls, and I know I bought some little thing because I have a very small little sack I have in one hand, and then what I want to buy before I go is some fresh bread.

And I go over to this store that’s selling bread – well they bake it there so it’s nice – and they have all different sized loaves which I like. I go in there and I see some of the really fresh, big loaves and they’re sliced so you can make sandwiches and stuff, and I just want to buy one of those loaves of bread to take.

But I can’t get anybody to wait on me because they seem to be standing in a semicircle kind of having a meeting, even though this is the middle of the business day, which I don’t quite understand. So I try to see is there any way I can get bread there and I can’t. I just feel like I can’t quite, so I’m about to leave but then a lady on the end of the line notices this so she comes over and then says, no, she’ll get some bread for me.

But she can’t get me the big loaves, but she does find me a loaf that’s sliced that will fit into a little bag that will be enough to make sandwiches with, so I’m okay with that, although I still think it’s strange they’re standing around in a semicircle when they should be waiting on customers.

And now I seem to be a little disoriented when I leave, because if I’m going to leave near the back of this area, then I realize that if I don’t have a receipt from the place where I just bought the bread and this one other little thing that maybe I have to go back and exit through where I bought something.

I can exit through this other place, but then they’ll want me to go into one of the other stores there, and exit through that store, and I don’t really want to go into anymore stores. It’s like I have what I need, which was the bread, and I don’t know what’s in the other little sack, so when this gal tries to direct me to exit through this larger store it’s like, no, it’s like I’m going to turn around, maybe I’ll go back out the way I came.

John: So it’s a kind of a complicated little dream in that you’re using in the dream a symbolism that isn’t generally used in a Sufi dream, at least I haven’t heard it before. And the symbolism is the bread, and what the bread symbolizes is your need, the bread symbolizes your need. You’ve caught up to your need.

Now, when you catch up to your need, you have a kind of maybe threaded way that you did that, and when you reach that you have to be careful because you can easily lose the recognition that you’ve caught up with your need – based upon the fact that you still look at things as having an imbalanced focus or mannerism.

In other words, the masculine, in this particular case, is supposedly in the arena of the place, but is not necessarily serving the need and, therefore, this recognition of that can cause you to feel bothered, and can cause you to be even reactive, and can cause you to do other things out of reaction instead of letting go, instead of adhering to having reached to the need and be able to let it be at that.

In other words, if you were able to just come in, get the bread, and leave, and hold a clear space, that would do more to changing what needed to be changed there in one’s being because you would be reflecting the validity, the essence, of what it is that you’re seeking.

But if you come in and get the bread and go through all these nuances because you have issues with the space yet, in relationship to the ideas, and the mannerisms, and the projections, and the attitudes, in other words, you still carry bits and pieces of all of that part, then you still have this long circuitous dance yet to make, which deludes and keeps you from owning, living, and maintaining the need that you have accessed.

It’s a complicated dream from the standpoint that you had to know what the bread was, and once you know what the bread was, then the second thing you had to know is, what are those guys standing around not attendant to satisfying the need, what is that about? And then you recognized that that is about a part of yourself that still has its questions, that is still not sure, that’s still, even though it can be right in front of you, can still carry on as if there’s something missing.

And the idea that something is amiss, or something isn’t right, can cause you then to become tangential yet.
