There are many times when a dream image will show us looking for something or someone. In this example, what is being sought is the dreamer’s father and the car he drives. Yet that imagery is a representation of an inner connection that is trying to be made, a dance, almost, between two inner aspects that are working through what separates them. And sometimes the dream repeats, because a connection doesn’t come all at once. (At the end of this post there are instructions and a link to download this recording to your computer.)
Jeane: Well, like I said, I’m a little frustrated because I had like four dreams, and the middle dream was actually a repeat dream, and after I’d gone over the dreams very carefully when I opened my eyes I lost the first and the fourth.
But in the middle dream, what it does is I’m in a large parking garage, has lots of floors to it. It’s got yellow walls and little compartments where cars are. And my dad and his car are somewhere in the parking garage.
So in both of the middle dreams, because it’s a repeat dream, I’m trying to locate my dad and his car together. And so the whole dream is about how I do that, and I’ll go in these little compartments. Well, they’re not quite compartments because every stall is marked more by a couple of pillars.
But it’s like I go in one and I try to find the car, and his car is kind of compact, and sometimes it’s even squished down. So I will do everything I can to locate him with his car. And both times I locate it, but sometimes I have help, and sometimes I don’t, from other people in the garage like sometimes it’s almost like the car is trying to get away from us, or I have trouble locating it, or sometimes people are helpful, or sometimes they aren’t.
And I think that’s why the dream repeated, but in both cases I find dad and his car.
John: Now the middle process for you is exhausting. And what is happening in the middle process is the inflection that comes from within, in terms of you being able to see that which is the imperative to a knowingness. Well, the inflection is the knowingness.
See, the middle is not difficult for me; I can see the middle straightaway. What I tend to miss is the beginning where you make the initial linkage. In your case, your indulgence and fervor and over-the-topism in the middle area has taken and made it awkward for you to have this direct linkage.
And so as you press and sort this out for yourself, it can be almost like energetically exhausting. In other words, it isn’t just simply there. It could have been just there, and then the last step would have been the matter of the timing and the will, which is a kind of masculine revelation, the timing.
The first step to cause you to come to grips with a quality of depth inside of yourself, for intertwining or revealing purposes, has to do with the inception which is based upon inflection. In other words, you catch the thread, you have caught the thread, the step that initiates something and sets something into the process. This enables you to be in the right place when something is able to come through for unfoldment purposes, when you’re able to see what needs to be seen.
I suspect that the first step and the last step are something that are natural for you, and that it’s the middle step… In other words, even though it’s unconscious, I suspect it just is more natural for you, that’s more natural for you to open up to, or to get, or to know. Even though the dream takes that away from you; your higher self gets that already. I suspect that is just right there if you quit a doingness, and a fluttering about, in terms of finding what it is that you need to see.
In this dream you reach a means to see something, but you don’t do it in an inclusive sense of the wholeness of the soul. You struggle too hard. You are caught in the mannerisms and the reflections of things and lost the inflection. And the inflection happens at the very beginning.
So, if you’re looking at what you’re talking about, you have that which kind of puts you on track of a process and, you might say, that’s a quality of some sort of spark within, that’s like an intuitive. And then you have the sorting out, the feeling out, the seeing that is the middle part, which is kind of a little bit more of a masculine orientation. It has to do with knowing what needs to be known – right there at your disposal.
And then the final step has to do with the disseminating of that into life, which is like a type of timing. And it’s a timing from the standpoint of the sensation orientation, that orients it out. And so you dreamt of the beginning, middle, rather, you didn’t dream of the beginning, didn’t need to dream of the beginning.
The middle area had enough obstacles in it so that the first image in the beginning and the end weren’t right there, the journey component of the middle occupied your attention, and was so loud that you didn’t see the beginning and the end that take you back into something that just quietly is there.
