im0We’ve spoken in recent posts about the nature of a saint (a person with spiritual attainment). But it doesn’t have to look holy, in fact the only way to get real spiritual development is to go through the difficulties of life buoyed by the strength of your higher purpose. In this dream we see exactly that: there’s no road to get where the dreamer needs to go, and what needs to happen seems impossible, even crazy. Yet, the dreamer trusts in her guidance and everything works out well, even magically. That’s what becomes possible when we realize and accept that something else is in charge. (At the end of this post there are instructions and a link to download this recording to your computer.)

Jeane: Well, as the dream continues, it shifts a little. I’m in a car now, and I’ve made up the trunk of the car into a really comfortable bed that my dad can ride in. And I have at least one man and somebody else in the rest of the car with me.

And I’m trying to get somewhere now. It feels less like being chased and that I just have to get somewhere. Well I’ve driven the car and gotten up on this part of a mountain. It’s not all the way up the mountain. It’s partway up a mountain, and I’m not sure how I got there because there doesn’t seem to be a road.

Because there’s no road, then I look around and I see where the road is, but I suddenly realize that there’s no actual road between me and where the road is so, what I’m going to have to do is go off the side; it’s like where the road is across a gap from where I am, and in that gap you’d have to take the car just down the mountain, with no road, and some water has gone through and I see where some of the area can be muddy or it’s pooled. There’s a wild horse down there. I think it’s a white horse.

There may be even a place where the car would have to kind of leap across a chasm, and then when you go across you could either plow into a side that’s all muddy, or there’s a muddy track that goes up to the left a bit that you could get stuck in – but might work. And so I’ve just launched off because I can see on the other side of that is the road I need to go the rest of the way up the mountain.

So I’ve launched off. There’s this wild ride down that kind of leaps across the chasm. I see I could plow into the side, but I manage to turn and find this little track. It doesn’t get stuck in the mud. Then, finally, it comes to rest not far from the road. I mean like I can get on the road now. And I realize as crazy and insane as all that was, that I kind of like it that way.

John: Where was your dad? Always in the trunk?

Jeane: Yeah, he’s in the trunk – in a comfortable bed.

John: So the second half actually contends with a getting it, in terms of not getting lost in a type of spiritual illusion. In other words, the spiritual illusion would have been the going up the mountain, meaning the recognition of something that veils you out, which is like an aspect of the masculine, that can have an insight of bringing something through – but there’s still work to be done in terms of fully grounding what needs to be grounded.

And you’re far enough along in the dreaming process of the understanding of how this flows, and unfolds, to where you could have steered the dream, almost steered the dream, and that’s why it’s good sometimes once dreams are really amnesic, yet you could’ve steered the dream into kind of a spiritual direction, or the seeming spiritual direction.

But what ended up happening is you realized that you still have to contend with things that are a little mucky, and sloppy, and whatnot. You still have to contend with whatever the dynamic is that has a type of flow that’s in life, that isn’t defined in terms of where the road is, or the path is, still has a quality of bewilderment, or price of admission. And, when you go through that, you just suddenly find yourself where you need to be – as opposed to try to struggle so hard to get there.

In other words, you do the opposite of what your mind would have had you doing, which would have been to try to continue to go up the road. You recognize that you have to step back and go down, and up, and around, and through the much and such. And what you’re describing there, what you’re describing there is you’re not buying into a certain aspect of masculine projection, either, because the masculine projection would always have you trying to reach to something of more of control or power.

And you are in manifestation, and you’re responsible for that, and you accept that, and you go into that, and you hold your role in that, and you go through that, and as you go through that you reach the other – and you’d have it no other way.

That’s the contending with the price of admission of things in the outer. You’re not suddenly saying, okay, enough is enough, and then you take and make this about face. Yes, you had kind of the shadow of the dog, of the friend, looking out for things quietly, and silently. You weren’t’ inclined to realize just how important that company was.

And, yes, you got to a particular point where you started to recognize how you could find an inner guidance inside, but you didn’t get carried away with that. You didn’t go to a great extreme in that because you realized that you didn’t have enough of a connection with that to trust it, to be able to follow it. You still are in a daze and still have to pay the price of admission. You still have to relate to how things are in the outer.

In other words, the father of things is still in the trunk, asleep. You could have tried to wake, or resurrect, or contend with that other, reach to the other, but you didn’t do that. Had you done that, you would have on one level thought that you were speeding yourself up, but on another level, only later after the fact would you have come to realize that you had actually just slowed yourself down. In other words, the concept would have been deceiving.

By going down the hill and through the muck and this, that, and the other, where no trail exists you reach the road – and who would’ve guessed? And you would prefer doing it that way because why? Because that’s the way that it has to be done. That’s the way that you know that it has to be done in order to hold something in terms of the overall. That’s an interesting way of approaching it.

33adIf we remember enough of our dreams, we will realize that many times nothing goes right, things become entangled, and then something will chase us. But in those situations there is often help and guidance; in the dream today that guidance shows up in the form of a dog. But this is also true of our waking life: the universe is always trying to offer us help and guidance. It can be less obvious – something said by a stranger, or a detour in the road – but it is there for us, particularly when we are struggling toward something greater than ourselves, because the universe is built to support that. (At the end of this post there are instructions and a link to download this recording to your computer.)

Jeane: I had a dream and it felt like I’m with a friend, and I also have a dog. It’s kind of a long, low-to-the-ground dog, you know, kind of like a small Bassett hound or something. And we’re being pursued, so we’re kind of on the run a lot.

And I go into this town, and there’s a lady in the village that seems like willing to hide us, so we go into her house. She wants to hide us in a room where we have to go up these thin stairs and then squeeze through some little bars, and barely can make it with the dog, and into a little room in the house that’s rarely used.

So we go there, manage to squeeze in there and look around, and the thing is I know it’s only for a certain time limit because their son, who’s away, will probably be coming home, and he would see us and then maybe more people would find out about us. But then we need to leave even sooner than that because at one point I look out the window and I see that there’s some neighbor ladies that can see in the window, and see that we’re there, so we need to kind of keep on the move. And it feels like we can’t even leave by going down and into the street; it feels like we have to kind of leave by going out over the rooftops.

For a while in that dream it just feels like I’m still on the move and being chased, and then finally we come to this little village. There’s at least two other people with me. I don’t know if the dog is still with me, or not. And as we come into this village we’re always staying about a day ahead of whoever’s chasing us, but I see a platform, and there’s a foreign looking guy and his friends, and I guess he’s something like a fortune teller, or someone who has a certain sight, so we go over and we sit down around him. It’s like we want to get some more information, and it feels like not only can he give us information, but he also knows about the people chasing us, that he can read the situation because I think the person chasing us is even from his village, or he knows him really well.

And some people try to convince us that maybe it’s coincidence that this person is just traveling the same way we’re traveling so we think he’s chasing us, but I know that’s not true. They’re actually chasing us. And then it feels like the dream just shifts.

John: So it seems like the situation you’re placed in is one of having to be in the outer sorting something out. And whatever it is that you have to contend with, or sort out, or come to grips with, or grasp in the outer is something that’s a bit overwhelming to your perception, or bewildering.

In other words, what you’re dealing with is something that you haven’t gotten beyond. It’s like a type of karma because there’s the constant sense of a chase scene.

Now the thing that you have, during all of this happening, is you had the dog. And so the dog is the helper or the friend. It’s kind of like if you didn’t have that, symbolically speaking, these forces could be too much for you. But this is where you get the help, or this is where you get the friend. And when it’s not needed anymore, when you go to this village where it’s not needed anymore, it’s not needed anymore because you’re able to now access the information, the help, and the guidance on your own. In other words, that’s where you meet something that is able to give you information about the situation that’s propounded upon your nature.

So your dream is centered primarily in the outer. In other words, to begin with everyone has to go through things in the outer in order to finally come to a recognition and realization of something more that’s possible – that isn’t just outwardly oriented, which is a reflection, which a person doesn’t realize. Initially they don’t realize the degree to which that is an inner flow. They just contend with it as an outer mannerism, and think of it only as an outer mannerism. They don’t realize that there is an inner design behind every outer mannerism. And if you’re just plopped into life, you then go through all kinds of bewilderment as a consequence of that.

But this isn’t a dense dream. This is a dream in which you’re intended to have to do this, and you’re protected in terms of having to go through this process. In other words, there’s a masculine way of doing the path towards consciousness, and then there’s a feminine way. And in the feminine way they are creation, and so you have all of these little things that pick and poke at you, but when you are on a path in which you have the protection and the guidance, it works out differently. You don’t develop the stigmas, and traumas, and catastrophes that cause one to keep taking steps backwards until they’re duped out, and completely lost, and have no way of understanding how to cope.

But in your particular case you have the dog, and the dog is like something that’s like a friend, or a protective force, for you. And then, when you don’t need the dog, then you have an aspect of the masculine, which is a type of sight, that really knows that what’s going on in terms of all of this is for a greater purpose, that recognizes more what it is truly all about from somewhere else, in other words, not just from the sense of how something is without, recognizes how it is in terms of a greater meaningfulness.

So you’re looking at one half; your looking at the part that has to rise up. In other words, it’s in manifestation and has to rise up energetically, in other words, come more to handing back and, in the doing of that, connects with what is going on, Is awoken to that in terms of what is going on because of the help that is provided, the friend, the dog, or ultimately, the aspect of the masculine that knows more about whatever it is that’s afflicting or confounding you.

It’s an outer that you’re contending with and you have guidance in that. And, yes, it can be bewildering and such, and confusing, but you’re intended to make headway through that. And even though you might not see that as what is going on, because it seems like wherever you go and however you do this is constantly haunting you. It’s not haunting you in a tearing down way. You are transcending it by the fact that it is something that you’re directly facing. You have to directly face this sort of thing before something more can actually open up because it actually is a step that stands before you receive all that is given. It’s kind of like part of the price of admission phase, and then all of a sudden everything opens up.

HathorThe true understanding of what it means to be a saint isn’t generally known, and what does the halo represent? As we spoke of yesterday, a life attracts energy by the potency of its intentions (the word “saint is associated with certain religions, but the attainment is represented in many). And a life can attract very high energies when those intentions are aligned with human purpose and universal purpose. If that is done for a long time, such energies connect, and stay, with that person, and the radiation of those energies can be seen (by some), which is the halo represented throughout history. We are all capable of this, but what truly makes a saint special is that they have consistently chosen to live their life toward a greater purpose, rather than for personal interests. (At the end of this post there are instructions and a link to download this recording to your computer.)

John: In the meditation dream, I’m having to take who and what I am against something that is more balanced and firm that I have never actually faced before. So, in the dream, without any preparation, I travel to a place where I must confront a presence that is more firm, resolute, and intent than anything I have ever dealt with before. Such a presence is so overwhelming in its beingness that it overwhelmingly weighs down everyone who comes before it.

To make matters worse, this is what you would call an away game. In other words, it’s not something that you deal with in terms of your regular routine day, routine life. You’re going to this other place which is more than you can handle – that’s why it’s an away game. In your normal day-to-day you wouldn’t be that confrontive with yourself.

So what I mean by that is, I have to travel to where this naturalness is most at home and deal with the force at a time, and in a format, in which this force is most invincible. In other words, I don’t sneak up on it, I don’t backdoor it, I don’t try to figure out how to get to where this is at by figuring out its weaknesses or anything. I go up to this force straightaway, in terms of the invincibility and the power of this force.

I don’t know of anyone who has ever gone up before such a force when the conditions that exist are so overwhelming. Yet I did this and, in doing this, somehow, in a way that I don’t necessarily understand and can’t say in words, I somehow remained unwaveringly focused, and in doing so found an intent in my natural self that somehow succeeded.

This was a surprise because I didn’t know I had it in me. Not only did I handle this quality, but I also had to be an example as a result that influenced others. So, in the same dream, I had to instruct others in how to handle themselves when placed into such a setting.

Significance: The thing that I went up to is more like a kind of saint, must live in a pristine way, unwaveringly, all the time. They never change. They always maintain that projection.

So what makes an individual amazing is that a human being must go beyond their limitations, when a saint is just remaining true to a wholeness that the saint always embodies. The reason I had this dream is so that my attention is not drawn to ideas, or mannerisms, or what is right or not, but to the all pervading atmosphere that I am able to work with, or embody, because I have the experience. I’ve touched that quality in terms of being able to go up before a saint.

It is the constancy of such an atmosphere that explains the difference between a saint and everyone else, because a saint knows that there is nowhere to turn except to this all pervading atmosphere that the saint embodies continuously.

And so there’s a deeper underlying thread. Because the image comes into the outer as the primary, or as the only, underlying flow, to be in touch with that directly a person needs to sustain an atmosphere in their beingness for it to be known. Such an atmosphere abides in life in a positive, and in a pristine, way. Those in touch with the atmosphere are in touch with peace.

Because in manifestation a human being has 1,000 good reasons to throw away this atmosphere because a human being is looking at 1,000 ways that make sense to them anew, in other words because they’re in all these abstractions, the atmosphere of peace that is an all-pervasive vibration is rebuked as man’s freedom of choice acts to conduct, according to his best knowing or what he thinks he knows best, and that’s what keeps you deviated. And when that happens, in your case you itch. The stillness is lost. So that’s the meditation dream.
