V-ImageSometimes our dreams have a message that they are trying to get to us and, when they do, the images can be dramatic and even shocking. Other times the images can be descriptive of the state we are in and what we are trying to process, and in those instances the dreams can show the element of timing, or the feeling of waiting, or the sense of feeling unsure. Yet our relationship with our dreams is a lifelong affair, and the next dream, or the next night, we see the update to our situation, perhaps more clarity, or perhaps more bewilderment, depending on what we’ve contributed while we were awake. (At the end of this post there are instructions and a link to download this recording to your computer.)

Jeane: My dreams weren’t as clear to me last night. I know the first dream, what I remember of it, is it seemed to be at night and things were rather gray. And I was going along a street looking for a place where I lived, and also I had a friend who lived nearby that I hadn’t seen for a long time.

But that’s all I remember, from that dream, is just a sense of looking for something, looking for the place that I lived, or the right room, something like that. The second dream was different in that it was more… I was a man in the second dream.

John: In the first dream… first of all, the theme of the dreaming had a lot of bewilderment to it – as I experienced it and, therefore, you follow a similar parallel, except with the fact that you’re dealing with something that you’re just directly in, as opposed to trying to ponder the to and fro’s or something.

What happens is, the reason why it comes across as a theme like this, is that the human nature is such that it has to have something to lean on – in terms of how it’s unfolding, or proceeding – even if it’s just a fabrication, or a lie, that it tells to its soul.

As long as it has something to lean on it seems to be able to have the sense that everything is cope-able. The thing is we have that needing to be able to lean, or be, or know, or have a sense in some particular way. We have that, as a kind of defense mechanism, because if all of that were to be stripped away the heart would go in a swirl. It wouldn’t know how to hold onto anything because it is so used to having a kind of identity established, or nailed down, that it embodies.

And so when you get to a particular point, especially when something is about to shift, or needs to shift, and you’re in the flow of this, you’re experiencing the transitioning, in order to shift you have to let go, and when you let go you’re kind of caught in an in-betweenness in which things are going to break one direction or another – but you don’t know which.

And so you can have images of back and forth, something going up and something going down, or in your way of doing it is you just have an image, and I experienced this but didn’t have the image of it, you know, like yesterday was a day in which I felt fairly flat and benign, and nothing necessarily made sense, in terms of any focus that had to be acted upon, or done. And so as a consequence I went around and around in a circle just kind of in a glorified, or something, because there was nothing that pushed or resonated or compelled.

In your dream the sense of that sort of thing is expressed by not being able to figure out where you’re going, or anybody that you know of yourself knows, either. And so that is a sinking, emptiness feeling that is an oddity to have to feel in the heart when the heart is accustomed to, like I say, denoting something even if it’s a fabrication.

Jeane: What I remember of the second dream, that was earlier this morning, is that it feels like I’m a man, and we’ve all been assigned roles in a… it’s not like a game, it’s more like those game shows, like you see on TV. There’s some kind of a game, or a contest, that’s going to take part and I’ve been assigned one role and other people have been assigned other roles. And then we’ll kind of play against each other.

And I’m kind of just exploring what that role will be. It wasn’t that much detailed, yet, because we hadn’t started whatever the game was.

John: Yeah, that’s, like I say, first of all you had to have the first dream in order to kind of clear a space, so that there was a way that you could possibly listen to the transitioning. And the kind of transitioning you’re listening to goes along with kind of the statement that: something is coming from inner into outer. And, in order for you to be present, to be able to be there to be aware of it, to be a bridesmaid in terms of it going through you, you have to get to a particular point where you’re able to be in a receptive, flow state, in relationship to that.

In other words, it’s kind of like this other where you didn’t know your whereabouts, kind of left you in enough of an emptiness so that in the second dream you’re sitting there, so to speak, on baited breath wondering what’s coming next.
