PddewIt is easy, in this world, to feel alone. And when we do, we often try to fill our lives up with one thing or another, or many things, which mostly serve to keep us too busy to notice how alone we are. But we are not meant to be alone, or to feel alone, ever; we are meant to be connected. And connection comes from being aligned to the purposes of life, and consciously trying to play our role in the unfolding of the universe. Then we literally can feel we are a part of everything, and everything is a part of us. Connection is the only way to truly soothe our sense of being alone. Jeane: So I only remember one dream from last night. It’s actually more this morning, and it’s like there’s this woman who hasn’t gone to the doctor for years, and so I go into the doctor with her. And the exam room is kind of almost like this bed, so she’s on that side of the bed, and I’m on this side of the bed, and the doctor’s standing at the foot of the room. And she’s just talking about how she’s been afraid of going to the doctor’s for years.

And I’m explaining to her that I know she’s been afraid to go to the doctor and all that, but I tell her about my own experience of having gone to the doctor, and I had some symptoms, and yeah, I had some cancer, but I had some surgery and I’m better now. And that she needs to go ahead and get her exams, and see how she is, and not be afraid. But I’m going to be right there with her while she goes through it, you know, just even the exam, you know, because I know she’s been afraid to go to the doctor.

And I’m asking her whether she’s had symptoms and things like that, but telling her she just needs to find out how she is. That’s it. That’s the whole dream.

John: So you’re looking at a part of yourself. You’re looking at a diagnosis, getting a diagnosis. And the issue that seems to exist is that you’ve never gotten a proper diagnosis, and so you’re in a situation in which you can get that diagnosis.

So the dream is basically saying that you’ve gone through life and have never bothered to get a diagnosis, in terms of how it is that you are. And so you’re standing at one side of the bed, the shadow part of yourself is at the other side of the bed, and the doctor is standing there that can give you the diagnosis that would put everything together.

And the image is one in which you’re fighting getting the proper diagnosis, so it’s a scenario in which what is needed is a proper diagnosis in terms of what to do, or how to, then, turn around and be. Because if you’ve never gotten a diagnosis, in terms of well being, and you’re suddenly getting a diagnosis, that suggests, then, that the way one has been living has not been healthy, or balanced, or proper.

That’s what’s implied if you’re in front of a doctor, and so to get this kind of diagnosis is like a starting over, or a shift, into how it is that you need to conduct yourself – in what is a transformative image.

Jeane: And the difference is it feels like she hasn’t gotten out before because she was alone, and I’m letting her know I’m there with her now. And if she doesn’t like this doctor, I know other doctors in town, but she doesn’t have to go through it alone. So that’s what felt different about it.

John: So I guess then the whole issue then is, what does alone really mean? Because the dilemma has been one in which one was cut off. So if one’s not cut off from the greater part of one’s self, then one’s able to take in what is meant to be known, or to unfold.

science-of-consciousnessOn a spiritual journey, it is one step to have an inner awakening, a new insight or knowing. The next step, equally important, is to bring that new awareness into conscious life. Because inner awareness is meant to be acted on. We begin with new understanding, but we then take that understanding and begin to live it, in a conscious way, so that we now have a greater view of what is occurring around us.  (At the end of this post there are instructions and a link to download this recording to your computer.)

Jeane: In the next dream it feels like I’ve gone to a similar house, it almost looks like the first house in the other dream, this time I’m going there because I need to have a checkup, like a post-operative checkup with my doctor.

So I go in there and I go into a room where she is and then she gives me a gown and tells me to go put it on. So I leave that area to find a room to put the gown on, and I’m having trouble finding a room. So I go up a level or two, and on the top level there are actually a couple tents set up there, and there’s a young man I know that must be getting treatment because he’s in a bed in one of the tents, and there are some women nearby.

And I realize the tents don’t give quite as much privacy, but at least I can have room to move around there, whereas some places it was hard to get into, or I couldn’t find a room to try anything on.

I go to the back of one tent, there’s a woman I know there and there are some steps that go down a little, so you can get kind of over in the corner and have a little bit of shelter and be somewhat screened from everybody whose around so I can put on the gown.

I suddenly realize I have two gowns to put on, one which just seems to be your usual mundane hospital, usually white and blue gown, and the other one’s a kind of deep orange color. First I’m pausing and going through that thing of, do you open it in the back, or do you open it in the front when you put it on?

I finally realize that most of these things they make you open them in the back, but because I have two to put on it good that I have this friend there that could maybe help. So I’m getting them on when the doctor shows up because I guess she got a little impatient waiting for me. So now she’s going to look for a room where maybe she can do the exam up on the floor where I am.

That’s when I wake up.

John: This dream starts off with the thought that the conditions that we are in have a lot to do with the way we’ve been carrying ourself, or conducting ourself, in other words, having to go to a medical doctor, a post-operative checkup.

And the sense that this has is that you’re having to do this based upon some way that you’ve been carrying yourself or conducting your life in some fashion that you have brought this certain thing on. That was interesting in how that was obvious in the first part.

But then, it’s almost as if the dream then wants to ask another question. You have this situation that something has to be done, a post-operative checkup or whatever, which has dealt with some condition or mannerism that was brought on by the way that you have been approaching life in an imbalanced way.

And because it’s imbalanced, it causes these kinds of conditional inflections to occur. So then the dream actually decides to noodle another pattern in, or like another statement. And that is, now that you have dealt with this, or done this, in other words handled something that was brought on as an issue that had something to do with you not conducting yourself properly, and you’re realizing that you’re meant to change or shift into a whole different kind of way of being.

Then the dream is indicating that there are two ways that this can happen. For the more unconscious person, it happens through the rear, or the back. It’s like it does not confront us directly because we are always defensive of our situation, and how we’re living, and we won’t get it.

And so to put on this change, and to wear this change, it is brought about through, not the front but through the back. But you have two different gowns, and it’s not clear whether one of those gowns – and they’re two different colors, aren’t they – the one that’s kind of a blue and white that opens to the back, and the one that is orange opens to the front.

So what this is saying is, because it’s like this it’s adding another element to the process. In other words, life is the greater teacher, and it is throwing things at us all the time. But usually we don’t get the deeper nuance or essence behind all of that. And, therefore, it’s commonly viewed that the spiritual path is such that “a little light enters,” as Leonard Cohen sang in one of his songs, or poems, a little light enters through a crack.

And so you’re accustomed to realizing that you got blocked off, you’re blocking off your ability to be natural in terms of the way that you approach things densely in the outer with the senses and the mind. And so the leakage has to come from the back, from the rear, from the gate that’s not guarded, so to speak, of your nature.

And the dream is indicating that you can get to a particular point where you can see, and sense, in the outer schematics, where you don’t have to necessarily keep going through the same habitual patterns over and over and over again – which is the tendency of the average person just caught up in the outer.

A part of you can find an aliveness that can actually see what is happening in the outer as having a meaningfulness too. And that’s the orange. Now the orange is also another aspect in which you’re supposed to have an understanding and a clarity about this already, that it’s natural to you, because it’s the color that’s associated with the shaman.

And a person who has shamanistic tendencies tends to know that they have to look at the way things happen in the outer slightly differently than the usual person does. The usual person just grumbles and complains, and tries to steer and make the best out of what is occurring around them in their environment.

But a shamanistic person is always looking at the degree to which they are being affected by something in the outer, and evaluating whether that makes sense or whether that is sending them in some sort of elusive way, in which they are deluding themselves.

And that is kind of like being able to now start to slowly, just in that little slight regard, to be able to make progress in terms of dealing with that part of yourself that has brought on a particular condition that’s unhealthy, which has been cleared up because you’re going in for the checkup.

Can you now sustain and maintain yourself by being able to see, in the outer flow and sequence of things, something of value? Ordinarily you may not have, and that pent up the part that caused an imbalance health-wise.

Can you now see in the outer something that is appreciatively important? As opposed to it deluding you constantly, over and over and over again. In other words, not just have the breakthrough through the depths of the inner awakening, but also have the breakthrough in terms of being able to see with some depth of inner insight, in the outer, so that the outer isn’t all encompassing anymore. That you can see something behind that, or within that, outer. Or, in other words, face on, front on.

This has a whole other sense of importance in that it’s just like in the morning one can have a certain understanding, a clarity, a knowingness, based upon the vibration of whatever occurred at night, with the soul moving around or something, where you have the lights on there that you wouldn’t normally have during the density of the day, when you get all swept up in the conditions of your environment.

What you’re dream is basically indicating is, even in the conditions of your environment, you should now have a newfound appreciation, or sense, on how to see it. That’s pretty deep dreaming.
