The image of taking a vacation can imply the same thing in a dream that it does in real life: it’s an opportunity to let go of all the things that are pulling us this way and that way. So, in this dream, the desire to let go amplifies the problem being faced, in that there is a stalker, or the potential for someone to be assaulted, so the dreamer must become a detective to sort this all out. Of course, this isn’t the movies, so sometimes the case isn’t solved in the end, which means there will likely be more dreams that address the specific issue from a different angle. (At the end of this post there are instructions and a link to download this recording to your computer.)

Jeane: In this dream I’m a woman detective, but I’m going to be going on leave shortly. And I’ve been investigating the case of a woman who was either assaulted, or afraid she’s going to be assaulted.

And it’s kind of sensitive because it’s possible that there’s either a police officer, or someone associated with a police officer, involved in the stalking, or the assault; we don’t know for sure yet.

John: Which basically means a quality in your nature, you’re like a detective, and you’re getting ready to leave the equation of things. But, before you can leave, you’re noticing that you’re having to contend with an energetic in which there is an imbalance that, in the dream, is like a stalker or an assault kind of energy, but, in reality, in the overall, it’s a vibration that you’re not able to drop, that you haven’t dropped.

And so whenever you try to leave, to go on vacation or whatever, you want to put aside all the things that are in the way, and what you’re finding in terms of what you have to set aside is you carry a synaptic energy, pent up; things can be pent up both positively and negatively. Pent up is a type of imagination about something that one would like to do that’s wonderful, or the opposite of that is equally possible, and confusing, from a reflective standpoint. And there can be something pent up that has to do with the vibration of being stalked or assaulted.

This is just another wrinkle in this kind of way of being, that you’re still trying to set aside, or let go of, so that you can go on vacation, or so that you can go somewhere. In other words, this is something you still hold; it’s still a synaptic energy in your nature.

Jeane: So, because we don’t know who the person is that stalked her, or assaulted her, or wants to, and because it even maybe someone associated with a policeman, or a policeman, I have to be careful with what I do with the evidence on the case that I’ve been gathering.

So there is one policeman, or detective, and he actually has a roommate or somebody that shares an office with him or something, that is one of the people that’s on my list, that I’m suspicious of. I’m not even not suspicious of him, the detective, actually. And then there is a policeman that may be used to date this woman that I really am suspicious of.

I have some direct evidence that’s not enough evidence yet to really identify the person. Now that I just will be keeping concealed. My concern is I want her to be safe while I’m gone, or I want the information that could lead to capturing someone, if they do approach her while I’m gone, available to somebody else.

And I want the information given to someone so that she’ll be kind of watched over, protected, and they’ll be keeping their eye out for what the problem might be while I’m gone. And I’m giving a copy of that to this one detective that, even though I’m kind of suspicious of his roommate, I can tell him who else I’m suspicious of, and he’ll keep an eye out while I’m gone.

John: So what you’re dealing with there, is you’re dealing with kind of a yo-yoing that you’re doing in the unfoldment process, in which you’ve gotten to a particular point in which you’re able to reveal, or release, information – up to a point. But the other part still is sitting in a state of distrust, or still hasn’t sorted something out, or come to a succinct conclusion.

And so you’re going to be holding on to that when you go on vacation. So you’re going to set it in motion. You’re going to be passing it forward. In other words, it’s something yet to unfold.

The thing that’s not being recognized here is that there is something that continues to keep continuing and never, never stops. You’re never really truly able to go on vacation because you’re shifting the responsibilities, and you’re shifting the information. You’re packaging it different this way, and different that way. And so you’re having to take note of what that really does feel like, but it’s not making a big shift.

Jeane: Once I’ve got all the material together I have to walk to the office of this policeman I’m leaving the material with, and that involves my leaving the building. Then I have to walk down this corridor that’s actually outside; it’s suddenly like there’s woods there. And there’s a big wolf that’s been running wild.

So he comes near me first to see if he can scare me off. But I pause for a minute, but then I keep on walking. And while I’m doing that, this big bird – I thought it was like a bluejay but it lost a feather off to my right. When it falls down that feather is about as big as an eagle’s feather, but it’s all blue. Part of me wants to go and investigate the feather, but the wolf has run over there, and it’s a pretty big wolf. So I have to just, you know, let that go, and go on down.

And it feels like that lets me in the back area where either the detective lives, or works, that I’m going to leave the material with. So I outline what I want him to do to keep an eye on things. And

then I leave. Then I wake up.

John: You kept playing with the same mind that has the problem. You never did let go of the problem, just kept moving around from left hand to right hand. And so when you wake up, you’re lying to yourself in terms of any relief that you might feel that you have, because if you look real carefully you’ll realize that there really isn’t any relief, it’s just been postponed, or suspended. You’re still carrying all of that.

And so the theme of the dreaming is, and the big question that has come up, is there anything that can be done, or anywhere to go, in a world, and in a schematic, in which nothing can be shifted?

What you’re doing is that you’re going through these antics where you’re not really shifting anything, you’re just moving things around. Even rationally speaking you have to know that that doesn’t solve anything; that just passes the buck, postpones it. It doesn’t work that way. That isn’t what one is trying to do; that isn’t what’s important.

Your dream seems to be indicating that eventually what you’re doing there is going to become frustrating. Eventually what you’re doing is going to become something that will be unbearable. Eventually what you’re doing there is going to become something that, no matter what you do, and how you do it, you’re still not letting go.

Connection and interaction concept . Mixed mediaIt should be great comfort to realize that what we seek on a spiritual path is also seeking us. We may be the seeker, but we are also the sought. And it has become easy for us to dismiss this idea and think that, in such a huge universe, how could we, as individuals, matter? But that is the first premise of human life: to respond to the call of creation that is built in us. And this is why we feel these strange longings, and get those moments of emptiness, because we are disconnected. That is the call we are meant to respond to; but it is not a wake-up club on the head, because it has to be our free choice. (At the end of this post there are instructions and a link to download this recording to your computer.)

Jeane: Well I had been reading a book about a woman detective in Norway, so in my dream I’m that woman detective. I’ve gone back to a small hometown, somewhere in Norway, to fill in for the chief of police while he’s gone on vacation.

And, while I’m there, there’s a murder of a man I knew in my childhood, and I’m investigating the murder. So it feels like all night I’m investigating that murder, going back and forth. But then, towards morning, I realize that I was the one that had committed the murder. Maybe there had been another murder that was like it, that was years ago; now I realize I did it whether I was at a party and I was drunk and I just forgot, I don’t know, but now I realize that I did it. I have to turn myself in. That’s the only dream I had.

John: That’s a good dream. That’s a dream in which there is something that is seeking you. In other words, you’re the detective. In that regard you could call it a higher self. The higher self is a detective. I mean that’s just putting a label on the fact that there is an inner beingness, you know some would call it God, that is seeking you. And that you are denying this fact when, in actuality, you turn out to be the one that is sought.

Now what’s interesting is, let’s do something with this because this is the theme of the dreaming last night, and let’s do something with this in terms of what is being purported in a way that is being laid out in a very subtle and quiet way – not meant to rock any cages, or disturb any equanimity, because everything that he does, including all the practices he gives and everything, that he just throws out there as kind of suggestions, by and large fall by the way boards.

Now what he was emphasizing, that I don’t know how many people realized, he waited until the last day to bring it up, and when it’s brought up on the last day you might say that there might have been a buildup to this from all what occurred in the days before to get to a point like this. And the point that he’s bringing up is not a way of being that is in keeping with the way the Chistis are inclined to see themselves. It is in keeping with the way that the Naqshbandis are expected to see themselves, but don’t.

And that is that there is, as your dream indicates, something that is trying to come across and grab our attention. And we may deny it, and be looking in other ways and regards, but it is nevertheless occurring.

In other words, in your dream, it’s the police detective and the denial, the denial that we dream, which is the way most people in our dream group portray it. They deny that they dream, yet in itself they are the guilty ones. They do carry that coming through them, whether they are aware of it or not, like to pretend that it isn’t happening for them, but everyone dreams prolifically and they refuse to admit that they’re the guilty ones. In your dream, they’re the ones that have committed the mayhem or the murder.

They refuse to recognize that this is them. In other words, the ability to bring through them something of a greater wholeness of their soul, of a beingness, that is the true them, that they refuse or deny because they choose to be lazy or asleep. And then he suggested, and of course this isn’t going to necessarily work but it might help, he suggested that they set alarms to wake up every 90 minutes until they realize that this process is alive, and quickened, and is functioning in and through them.

Well, just like most all the practices he prescribes, unless he gives specific guidance with those that he’s guiding that they start doing this, they are probably just going to hear this as just so much of all of what he represents and it will kind of fall by the way boards. And I’m not sure how much it would work, anyway, because when you set an alarm it wakes you up every 90 minutes, until you’ve trained yourself to be able to shift straightaway and drop, something quickly, which is what his practices were designed to do in terms of the thought patterns that we carry, you know, you’re just suddenly going to wake up and be blank because your thought patterns will still be somehow or another circulating in a louder capacity and be in the way.

I still remember how it was when I first started trying to realize that I dreamt, kind of also in this state of denying that I ever dreamt, and as soon as I started to realize that I dreamt I started to realize that I had been dreaming before and had been just purposely blanking that out. And that, for me to pull out the dreams, I had to apply what I call focus and attention that was very stringent because it was so easy for these dreams to be fleeting.

So it’s very, very interesting that you have a Sufi path that has, for all intents and appearances, gone along for a long, long time, refers to the fact that there can be dreams but doesn’t specifically direct one’s attention to focusing upon them like you have in the Naqshbandi path.

And now, all of a sudden, here you have a Chisti path that is accentuating the importance and even offering a technique or two to try to activate the significance of the dream world. And then you have a Naqshbandi path that has gone on accentuating the importance of the dream world, with students who are in a state of having pulled away from it and believing that they only dream when they need to dream, which is very, very infrequently – instead of realizing that, in terms of what is meant to come through them, that it needs to be very, very continuous, that you can have this kind of as something of a lucidity, from within, that is dream-like, with your eyes wide open.

You’ve heard the statement that we are the dreamed, and who’s the dreamer and who’s the dreamed? It just keeps on going. In other words, there’s the whole recognition of the importance of something that comes through, that is meant to come through.

6b0We could look at life in this way: humans are the most alien thing in the universe. The reason that statement can be made is that all things are part of the structure and processes of the universe but, in the case of humans, we have freedom of choice and have to choose to operate according to the universal plan. That’s what a spiritual journey makes possible – living in a way that incorporates us back into the universal. To make that journey, we must die to our personal view of life. Jeane: Well, in the dream that I remember, it’s like this detective had come to the house and wanted to get blood samples and things from me because of a murder. I think it was a girl that had been murdered. He thought I was suspicious because maybe she’d gone out with somebody I knew, or something like that.

Anyway, it was some kind of a love triangle, so he was convinced that I’d done it, which I hadn’t, but he was there at the house and he got blood samples. Well then he leaves, and it feels like I have this boyfriend and I see him, and then he leaves town. And while he leaves town, then I find out that a detective is returning to the house.

I’m not anxious to give more blood samples or anything, but I take a shower and I get ready. Then the boyfriend shows up first, I think, and I’ve put on my boots and everything and I go out to meet a detective. Well this time it’s another detective, and I’m a little guarded because I’m not interested in giving more blood samples and everything, and I think that he’s there about a girl that had been murdered, maybe that used to go out with my boyfriend and that’s why they’re suspecting me.

But then in the middle of the interview I find out that the person who’s been murdered this time was a previous detective, and I’m just really shocked. I can’t believe that because, even though he was really pushy and everything, I liked him, and I just can’t believe that. Maybe they thought they were suspicious of me because he’d been pushing me to see whether or not I’d murdered this other girl, which I hadn’t.

But now I’m just in total shock because something has happened to that first detective, because I felt like even though he was pushy he was just doing his job, so I can’t believe that something’s happened to him. That’s all I remember of the dream.

John: The theme of the dreaming last night was this process in which one makes a shift to the point where it’s harder to remember the way something was, in terms of how it worked, kind of a two-way deal, like an inner and an outer, that are separate.

It’s hard to remember that because what has happened is that one finds themselves intertwined in a way in which something has shifted. And you only perceive, the way you perceive, is simply in terms of how it is has shifted and changed. In fact, you can’t seem to go back to looking at it in a way that it had been looked at before.

Well, that’s me struggling with trying to find the masculine way of looking at the detail, the factuality, the energy flow. It’s just the nature of the masculine to have to try to by bringing in an energy to distinguish how something is

But you don’t really distinguish very well if you shift completely. And what you have is just a quality in which you cannot find yourself, other than as the matter of which you’re totally intertwined, or immersed in.

And so you have a dream of this in an overallness in which you are in a state in which whatever is going on is, in some capacity, correlated to how you are on the deepest of all levels. And the deepest of all levels is, the symbolism that you use, is the blood. In other words, the blood orientation of yourself will determine how you are intertwined with all that there is that is going on in life.

Now, the separate outer aspect of what has occurred, you can’t find that anymore. That isn’t findable. Instead, whatever it is that has occurred directly affects you such that parts of yourself have to be examined, the blood aspect of yourself has to be examined, to see to what degree or how it is, how correlated you are to what is happening in the overall. And so as time progresses you come to recognize, or have a familiarity with it, in other words the one cop that was going to be doing the blood test who passes away. He was murdered.

In other words, he got too close to understanding the issue of something, got too clear, and he had nothing to do with it, just like you had nothing to do with it, in terms of the outer way of looking at it because you are everything. What has transpired is at the essence of your being. In other words, it’s like you’ve heard the expression that how we are, that we’re responsible for everything that occurs in the environment. You know the fact that we eat meat or use oil products in which to extract the oil products a lot of havoc is done on mother earth and to other people and the environment takes a beating from that.

Well, we’re all intertwined with that, and we all have our part of that, and no one is innocent because to some degree we are a living being structure in relationship to all that there is that exists and, therefore, have culpability, even though when you break it down to outer aspects we may not have the direct involvement, but we still are intertwined with it vibrationally because it is the vibration that we carry that leads to the louder aspect in the outer.

Well, in your dream you no longer relate to any of that. You are all of that. You are in the matter of things and, therefore, because you’re in the matter of things the blood has to be explored, and you cannot relate to the direct consequences of what occurred because, in terms of trying to think that sort of thing through in that way in terms of separation, in terms of the duality of things, you don’t function in that capacity anymore.

Yet if examined closely you’re still culpable because what you’re made out of all things were made out of, and so you’re in everything. And so if a person gets too close to that, they just die. They die to the outer, and they come alive on the inner, an inner in which the spirit energy is accentuated as being just matter, the matter of things.

You are responsible for the matter of things in everything that occurs. You have no means of denying culpability. It is there simply in terms of the fact that you are in… I mean the feminine is the matter, is manifestation, and you are everything in manifestation. And when you come to know that, you die to the outer.

The part that’s trying to figure this thing out in an outer context, it got lost. It died. You know, it so-called got killed, it got slain. It is only able to exist or be as the matter of it all. And when that happened, of course that must have been quite a shock inside when the part that you liked, that was drawing the blood, and then there’s more that keeps examining the same thing in terms of the innerness of the innerness of it all. It just goes on and on and on and on, convinced with a focus that it’s going to discover through taking these blood tests, an aspect in some fashion of how it is that you’re associated with what has taken place.

And, if looked at from the merged essence of spirit energy in matter, it will find it because you are connected and tied to everything that exists. So that was quite an interesting dream.
