Jeane: In my dream it felt like I was on a river. It must have been somewhere like Egypt (where we recently traveled) because I see that the people are wearing Galabiyas (a traditional Egyptian garment).

It seems as though there are three different things you can do with a boat on this river. I think one is that you can go up or down the river, and another is that you can go across the river. The third thing to do, especially if you hire a guide (it’s difficult without a guide), is just swirl by yourself from one spot to another, wearing one of the Galabiyas. But you have to know what spot to swirl from. It seems you can swirl from one spot to another, and another, and another.

Sometimes you can do it kind of invisibly, and sometimes you’re visible. I think you might need a guide if you want to do it invisibly. I’m not sure how it works exactly, but that seems to be the option I’m studying the most, trying to figure out how that works.

John: The theme of this dreaming is, how do you carry yourself, or how is it that you’re able to be  – when you feel okay about everything?

In other words, there’s a way of carrying yourself, you could call it a manner in which something vibrates through you, that, if you’re attentive to it, sweeps you along into a flow. In that flow you naturally find a spot, if there’s meant to be a spot that’s most natural to you, and from this spot you’re able to go to deeper and deeper depths in this naturalness that you feel inside.

This dream isn’t meant to put you to the test about some personal nuance, or some awkwardness, neurosis, or complex, or anything like that. Instead, it’s a dream that draws your attention to an energetic vibration that you’re carrying, and proceeding through life with. When you see yourself doing this and note it about yourself, you recognize what you’re doing and see that everything is okay as you do it.

If anything, your dream indicates what happens to you, and what’s meant to unfold for you, as you travel deeper within. You’re able to go places and appreciate things in your environment, yet none of it actually impacts, or affects, or sticks on you in a way that pulls you down, or pulls you out of the flow.

So you’re able to use everything that happens around you as part of that flow – as a wholeness. You’re able to enjoy all of that and, in so doing, you just keep spiraling more and more within this resonance.

I guess it was important for you to see yourself in this way, not having to try and do anything in particular. When you’re able to be like that you find yourself a part of a natural overall flow – there’s no resistance from you that prevents it. You find that the things you enjoy carry that quality, and you go about, doing the things that interest you. You carry this manner as a way of effortlessly being.

In this image, it’s not a specific matter of being situated in some way. It’s just a matter of you going ahead and allowing yourself to appreciate what you feel, in relationship to the activities you do, which are just part of a greater flow. You don’t attach any personal indulgence on it, which would cause you to disconnect.

Instead, you’re putting your attention upon something that opens up more and more from within and, as you go through life, there’s a kind of joyousness to it all. So I guess the dream is showing you that you can have a sense of joy, appreciation, and you can resonate with that, and that alone enables you to free flow through life in a natural way.

John: I can’t tell if I did something to hurt my shoulder while I was sleeping. On an inner level, I was monitoring it and I came up with the notion that everything would be okay if I paid attention to how my movements were. In doing that, it seemed as if the shoulder functioned as a way of enhancing my adaptability.

In other words, the shoulder acted as a point of reference that I was able to hold onto. The way this is shown is in the following dream:

A school class needs to do a fundraising project. The class decides to sell pizza. The fundraiser is designed to be a day-long event and I’m an outsider looking at this happening.

I find myself advising them because I carry a natural knowing in terms of how the flow needs to be (i.e., I can connect to an energetic vibration, or a knowingness, of how it can proceed in the best way).

The people in the class are intending to do this as a one-off, so the end result would be more or less without any natural design. I start to suggest to them system after system that will help the project work better. For example, I suggest they cut the pizza up ahead of time and pile the slices in such a way that they can sell them more quickly, i.e., there are no wasted steps.

I also suggest that a couple of students go around and announce what’s happening, as a way to draw attention to the bargain slices. I indicate that when the fundraiser is coming to a close – when there’s only an hour or so to go – they can cut the price in half and offer two-for-one specials and things like that.

What’s interesting about this image is that I’m watching myself say all of this, and as each idea comes out, it resonates in such a way that I know it’s the right way for the situation to unfold. When it’s like that, when I’m in a state of knowing and yet still holding onto an ability to sense how something is inside – meaning I feel no uncertainty or confusion – that’s when everything seems to function at its best.

The theme of this dream is how to be in a state of letting go – of outer moods, judgments, or perceived limitations – so that an inner flow can come through. When this inner flow comes through, I have access to a deeper awareness and I’m able to know, simply by the way it resonates, whether what I say, or what comes out of me, is right or not right.

I’m getting clearer and clearer about it, so I’m able to see every aspect of the process of causing something to be brought through, in a new way. I just have to drop any qualities or characteristics that could intervene. Then this deeper knowing naturally flows.

I see it and I’m surprised as it comes through me. I know the clarity of it by its succinctness; if anything were wrong, I’d feel an equivocation in the energy coming through me. If it were limited by something it would be because I projected something onto it, of a personally-based nature, that hadn’t been let go of yet.

So, what I’m looking at and seeing is how simply I’m able to be in touch with the intended flow, in relation to something that, on the surface, appears to be a standard event in the outer world. However, even in that, I can know the deeper connection of how things can be.

Jeane: In this dream, I can’t remember if I’m a man or a woman, but I have a woman as a lover and she’s a brunette and an artist. She comes to visit me, or I visit her, but she likes to keep the relationship hidden.

What excites her is to make love in exotic situations, like on a train, so it feels like I’m always searching for something like that to please her, even though she also likes to keep everything hidden.

John: What this is indicating is that you like to be more open in regards to an activity or a flow. You don’t like to settle back in terms of something being routine.

You like taking on new challenges and you take them on as part of a sequence of unfolding events. That’s interesting. That’s opposite to most people, who tend to go to great lengths to get everything in their environment just so – no surprises, everything under control.

In other words, most people put great effort into defining everything in their lives, minimizing the variables that introduce struggle. Even worse, we even tend to think that’s the best way to interact with our environment – with the world outside ourselves.

What your dream image is showing is that you’re finding out that you’re able to be more connected if you allow yourself to just go into the free flow. It’s through that lack of inhibition (personal veils) that one’s connections to the inner worlds can open up.

Somewhere along the line we’ve gotten the idea that if we get rid of all the distractions happening around us it will give us greater control of our environment and, therefore, we’ll feel more at ease with things, we’ll feel less pressure and less confusion. We’ll know when we get there because we’ll feel lighter and happier in our nature.

That’s when many people think that they’re at their best but, actually, we’re at our best when we’re compelled to stay in the moment and flow with events. When we have to be in tune with what’s happening – more alert to the subtleties – we develop acuity, an ability to sense what is next, and how we can best relate to that, automatically.

Humans have come to think that the unfolding of life is somehow an intrusion on their plans. We expect everything to happen on our terms. But the process of allowing our higher connections to come through us – which is what we have been designed to do – can’t function when it is screened through our “self-first” viewpoint.

Your dream imagery portrays a lack of inhibition, together with a desire to keep the “relationship” hidden. That’s two sides of your own viewpoint. You know that letting go of personal limitations will put you more in the excitement and flow of life – the creativity of life – which is associated with sexual energy.

At the same time, this relationship with your higher self needs some protection in the outer world, because, for the most part, people won’t understand it. It’s between you and your higher self, and that’s okay. In connection with your higher self, you have the opportunity to let something more dynamic come through you, and you actually become more “real.”

That’s really how it works.
