StartetraHumans have in their design the desire to respond to the call of creation. For many, however, the noise inside is too great to hear the subtlety of that inner guidance. Jeane’s dream triggers this discussion: who we are, what we think, and what we do all become the total of our life – nothing is not accounted for. It is up to us to have offered something back to the planet and to creation with the gift of life we have been given.  (At the end of this post there are instructions and a link to download this recording to your computer.)

Jeane: I’m just remembering a dream in which I have gone with some other people into a meadow, and there’s a circle of women in the meadow. It’s a fenced meadow. They seem to be sitting with crossed legs, and the leader is demonstrating something, whether it’s something she’s doing with a cat, or something she’s doing with reeds and how you form the space in them, I don’t know, but it feels like we go there to learn what she’s doing.

But then we come back sometime when she’s not there, and it’s like we’re trying to do some of what she did. But then you’re also kind of disturbed by the feeling that when she comes she’ll kind of know that you were there, and did you disturb things too much or what?

John: Even though you set this up as if it was like a teacher that imparted or created the inflection to which a note was hit, even though you set it up like that, the important thing is, is that something has been spurred, or awoken, so that you’re ambience nature, some aspect of it, goes forward on other levels.

So it’s like on a manifested level you can express yourself up to a particular point, and to where there is a quality that has an affinity that kind of is there, outside of manifestation, but still caught in the magnetism of the physical body. And then there’s the part of yourself that’s outside of all of that, which is universal.

Again, we’re talking a quality of the soul that’s not necessarily sure, it’s caught by the magnetism of the human body, but it’s as big as the universe. To the degree to which something about you in manifestation rises up to something more, whatever and everything that you do, every little thing that you do that touches that realness inside – as opposed to just around and around in the outer – that actually aspires to something so much more, that catches that link of intertwining, that’s visible.

It’s known that you were there because that’s the greater space. It’s never hidden. That’s the greater space of the soul. That’s why you’re always seen. Everything you do is always seen, and every time you have the slightest little epiphany, it’s seen from this greater soul quality of your own being. You can’t hide a thing.

And so whenever you take and you fall back, and you go into a lesser state of yourself, and you think you’re getting away with it, it’s all seen by this part of yourself that radiates out in the Wholeness and overallness of the universe. And it sees when something comes close, or doesn’t come close, and it knows when it’s like that, too.

And that’s how a teacher is able to be a teacher, because a teacher is connected to, is intertwined with all of that, is part of all of that, is part of your soul, sees your soul, knows what that is even though it has this whole other dance that’s going on. So it has this energetic radiance that reflects.

Whenever you take and fall back, and go into some mannerism or notionality, you put a wrinkle in all of that – and that’s visible. You think it’s invisible, but that’s because you don’t see the subtlety of the greater soul nature that tells on you, that notes all the time, that’s watching all the time, that’s kind of subtly at play all the time for you to rise up more towards its overall beingness, making note of all of that, assisting in its own subtle way, but lost and a little bit trapped and confused because of the magnetism of things that kind of has its loudness that keeps that orientation at a point where its subtleness is the last thing that you’re inclined to put your attention towards.

Your notionality and your senses are inclined to keep going to the density of things, to the manifestation of things, and you rarely listen, and stop, and take something in with the quality of the heart, which then accesses, and is the vehicle upon which – not the mind – that access through the heart is the vehicle upon which you sweep towards, or into even, that essence of the universal soul.

So it’s interesting that is your better dream because you actually are playing with the fabric of creation, behind the scenes of creation. In other words, you’re taking creation, and yourself in it, and going to the subtler, going from there and opening things up, as opposed to going around and around in creation. This is your quickening kind of point of things.

Jeane: I was dreaming a lot, but the motion of the dream made it hard to pull out certain aspects of the story. There was a dynamic going on where it felt like I was in a canyon area where the rocks were all red.

I was trying to climb up high. There were even some people there who were very tall and thin, like Wilt Chamberlain. I kept climbing up high on the rocks, and then I would go down very low, beneath the earth.

At the same time there seemed to be a very slight circular motion going on at a horizontal level. When the dream had people in it – with dialogue and a story line – that seemed to be happening on the horizontal level – in a linear way.

So there was something that was so interesting about going way up on the craggy red rocks and then way down, below the earth, and then also experiencing a little bit of circular motion.

I wasn’t able to pull out the dialogue or the storyline with people, though. It felt like I was trying to hold too much all at one time.

John: The theme last night had to do with being able to put oneself into the flow; of becoming part of the unfolding that is a natural design of life. The images you’re describing are expressing an attitude that seeks to relate more with what is rooted in Creation, represented by the red rocks. You have, by delving into Creation, gone to a greater depth within.

However, that depth within you tends to have spirit energy that is frozen, or confined. So the rising up has to do with something being awakened inside, because something has touched it. That’s where you get the circular motion of rising up and down.

The linear motion – what is occurring on the horizontal plane – is an indication that you (as a human being) are caught trying to personally cope with this awakening. But that’s the wrong approach.

A person who functions at such a personal level can never, ever know what’s really going on because everything they do is reflection of, or a reaction to, what is unfolding. They have limited themselves to understanding only through their senses and then their brain. In doing it that way, they aren’t in touch with, or in tune with, what is unfolding from the standpoint of human nature that is designed to be entwined with and part of the flow of Creation.

This is similar to the idea that total openness – or vulnerability, or surrender – is actually where it’s the safest. That’s because it means a person is connected and entwined with everything; it’s when we are in alignment with Creation that we are most protected. That’s where a human being can function joyously with what is unfolding all around them.

So in your dream we see that you’re looking at the variables. Part of you is still trying to reconcile what is going on. Part of you can see yourself in this linear mode, which is the human being who goes laterally in relationship to life. You might say that is traveling east/west, so you open up a little, and close down a little, but it’s a lateral motion.

Then there’s the part of you that has opened up to the greater dynamic of north/south – going high up to something, and then going down into the depths of something. As a consequence, there is the circular motion you feel.

So it’s a matter of perception. Most of us have become limited in our perception to only one axis – and it’s the one experienced through an ego-based view of life – when we think that we are the center of our own universe, and everything that happens, happens to “us.” Yet if we expand our perception to a fuller view – east/west and north/south – we begin to experience our life as an integral part of all that exists.

It’s our defense mechanisms, personal psychologies, and belief systems that protect and deepen the grip of the linear, east/west motion, and that keep us from being able to grasp the up and down, the inner and the outer, which makes up the wholeness.

The north/south motion enables us to awaken, from within, the imbedded spirit energy that comes from the divine. That process then enables the connection to the divine will, which can guide us through what is always unfolding.

As we become guided, we actually gain access to a subjective quality inside us that is not readily heard because the chatter in the brain can drown it out. But if we connect to the subjective side in our nature, it puts us in touch with, and in synch with, that inner part that’s created in the image of the divine, or from the thought of God.

We can’t catch up with the true nature of life through the east/west axis, we can only “cope” with life. We catch up with it by following the north/south, up/down aspects as well.

You might say the east/west motion is the senses that probe and poke around and do their best to understand the way things are outside of us, with the sun rising and the sun setting. The north/south motion means that you catch up with both the sun side and the moon side of yourself at great heights and depths, which is in tune with the cosmos or the universe to which we’re entwined.

Your dream is looking at these components – by breaking them into separate parts – and seeing how it requires a state of total surrender or openness.

Jeane: In my dreams last night, the impression I have is that I am trying to find something that will complete something else, and it is a struggle.

At one point I have a ticket, or something rectangular – it could even be money. Then I have something circular, and I’m looking for the piece that completes it.

Somebody is constructing something. I’m annoyed with them. Part of my struggle has to do with shapes, and trying to complete the building of something.

There’s a young masculine energy that might be getting in the way, and that’s why I’m annoyed, but I can’t pull out the details. I was working pretty hard at it.

John: The compelling energetic of the dreaming last night focused on trying to cause something to come into cohesion, or balance.

What you are doing is looking at some limiting barrier, inside, and trying to bring that into alignment. This type of dynamic gets triggered when a person goes through sadness or hurt, or experiences an aching heart, compared with a happier feeling of soaring.

In other words, it’s the feeling of great relief or of a breakthrough. It’s reaching a state of peace, happiness, or joy, when earlier the feeling may have been a quality of sadness, or an aching heart. Between these two states there is the search for the missing pieces, which could manifest as to trying to find something, or to break through a barrier or veil, or to bridge a gap that lies in the way.

If you don’t experience the aching heart (to find the missing piece), or if you don’t have the contrast with something exhilarating and joyful, then you don’t have both polarities to work with. One polarity is an up energy and the other polarity is a down energy (the aching heart). If you don’t go in both directions, or take into account both degrees, then you won’t have a dream like you had last night where you are trying to resolve the difference, so that the two aspects can come together.

This is how veils, or barriers, are transcended in life. The depth and the height are brought together, and the inner and the outer are brought together. By reaching an inner depth, one can then reach the height.

It can almost get to the point where it’s hard to tell which is which. This is the process whereby life is nurtured. To learn to live in this zone – to be able to recognize inside oneself the wisdom of those two polarities – and to live in a zone that pulls them together into wholeness… that’s a human being who connects to everything in life.

That’s what it is all about. That’s what is required. It can only happen through the human – we are designed to process in this way. So this is exactly how we’re meant to live in the human body, rather than spending our time figuring out how to either project or protect our own self-identity.

It’s a state of freedom, really, where we can flow freely. After a certain point of maturity, we can stop letting ourselves get smashed in the depths – the aching heart, or despair, anger, or sadness – of whatever our predilection is, which is just a symptom of us being in a contracted state and shut down.

It’s good if we don’t have to do that. But if we do, then we tend also to the opposite extreme, which isn’t a whole lot different, because that sets us up for a fall. When we soar to these unbelievable heights in terms of a sense of wonderfulness, without the other state pulled together and brought into the in-between, then there’s an imbalance in either direction. Either polarity is a flipside of the same coin.

It’s not a whole lot different when everything is working out wonderfully and you’re riding the wave of that, compared to when everything is all compressed and you’re shut down and in contraction. Technically speaking, those two states are simply thresholds of extremes that are flip sides of each other – the polarities of existence.

The veils all fall away when you bring yourself to face a challenge or overcome what lies in between. When you feel how to do that – and the feeling of how to do that is the actual carrying forth of that energetic – you can penetrate the veils and come that much closer to the truth of things.
