Jeane: Let me explain a bit more about how the hot springs worked (see yesterday’s dream, Being at Depth).

There is an area at the top of the hill where everybody meets. At the very bottom of the hill is a room that has a tub and a steam room, but before going in there you have to walk outside and go up on a small platform. There is a bath there and then a series of hot tubs that go up the hill, about five of them. After going through the tubs, you come back down to the steam room.

It was kind of odd. You bathe in the tubs that go up the hill and then you come back down.

John: Yes, you’re describing an unfolding process, in terms of what is able to penetrate the inner depths. It’s similar to how the out-breath works.

This downward motion you describe represents the out breath, which is a big determinant in how you’re able to come to know something as you go into the depths of yourself (down the hill). At the end of the out-breath you are walking around in creation (the outer world), as if you came down an elevator. Then you come sweeping back up on the in-breath (up the hill), which has a lot to do with what you consciously pay attention to in the depths of yourself.

Apparently there are aspects and details of the out-breath that you normally don’t pay any attention to, but the greater the awareness you have of it coming down, the greater the linkage or connection you have with it when you reach the bottom.

In this dream, you have the hot tubs leading up, and after you’ve partaken of that process, when you return to the bottom you’ve attained a new depth, or new octave – shown by the steam room. You’ve penetrated to a greater inner depth. The hot tubs are nice, but the steam room has an effect that purifies or refreshes in a whole other way.

This corresponds to something the mystic Bhai Sahib said about himself: No, I’m not God, but if I focus upon something, I can get an answer. We can do the same by going into the depths of ourselves (connecting to our higher self). We can connect and get guidance in terms of what is unfolding, or meant to be.

So this is a very mystical dream. The out breath leads to an inner depth where you can participate with greater and greater degrees of letting go and be affected by a process that is linked to the top where things can become known to you.

Without the one, you don’t have the other; without the inner depth connection, the higher remains too feathery and intangible. But at the bottom, by going into the depth of yourself, you’re able to get a glimpse of this other, more universal sense of knowing.

There is the idea in Sufism that assumes that what’s really important is at the very top – it’s where the in-breath turns to the out-breath. In considering that, one can come to realize that the top is like a power station, connected to universal energies. Yet it generally seems intangible to us – almost feathery – compared to the density of the lower, or outer world we experience.

Yet through a spiritual journey we are able to go up the hill and bring down more and more of that intangible essence and begin to know it more and more. Through this process of a human journeying back to god, we create a stronger and stronger linkage to that.

It is another way of saying that everything is interconnected. It’s just that we humans generally take the easy route of only connecting to our lesser mannerism – the seductions of the material world. In this way, most of us fail to catch up with our inner depths, which can connect us to a process that is as big as the universe. And that entire universe can be understood as being one breath.

Within that understanding is the truth that everything is just energy in one state or another, from the power station above (Creation), all the way down to the human (the light bulb). And the light bulb, if it chooses, can access its connections all the way back to the transformers and, ultimately, all the way back to the power station.

John: Yesterday you described a very deep dream (see Wings of Angels). In it, you have a tremendous connection within, that you’re able to bring through, which touches and reflects upward vibrationally.

When you’re able to bring that vibration from the inner depths into the outer, you’re actually able to hold a space of appreciation in having done that.

What you describe is something that I wasn’t sure I believed was possible: You take, and hold, a symbolic thread of value, and cause it to be instilled into a scenario in the outer (the dream imagery).

Of course, the quality of being able to do this seems to have something to do with the fact that you were also quite touched by what you witnessed (the Blackfoot ceremony and the images of angels kneeling).

And you recognized something about the volcano, and about the hidden depths of something within you – the old village underwater – that represents something latent and unconscious in you as a reflection of the way the outer reality is now (the new village). And you’re able to carry that across and through.

When you do that you’re…  I’m trying to think of that man – Drunvalo? – yes, he speaks about this. It’s like a shamanic act where you are actually bringing something into alignment. In his case he might be aligning crystals, or he’s working with indigenous tribes to awaken and resurrect something that needs to be brought forth.

The way Drunvalo tells it, it’s crucial that these things are brought back out as a linkage, when their purpose and time is appropriate. If that doesn’t take place, and the synchronicities don’t come together (they always seem to come together) then it will be too late for Mankind, in some regard, energetically.

That may be what you’re doing. You’ve got the Indian value (the quality of appreciation of Creation) working with the sense of the subconscious innerness, at a depth within that you’re in touch with, and you’re able to carry that across and take that which is on land and touch it in some capacity, which brings it to an awakened aliveness.

It’s an awakened aliveness in that you’re doing the touching because you yourself have been touched. That’s what it means to “appreciate” the coming together.

This imagery fits in with the your other dreams, too, in that you’re finding yourself able to suddenly, out of the blue, wear something, or be something, that you wouldn’t normally see yourself as wearing or being. You just suddenly find yourself like that and it’s like a flash where you break through – a snap, or a pop, like in the first dream where you just break through to something.

That transition can be a bit much, it can be a bit shocking and a bit traumatic. When you get to the point where you can soften that, meaning to touch it with a softer and softer heart, a greater and greater appreciative heart, and recognize the beauty of it and you in that space – well, you’re blessing that space and that space is blessing you.

That’s why you have this aspect of it being angelic. But it’s an angelic that has pink associated with it, yes?

Jeane: The bodies of the costumes are made of pink feathers, and the wings are either pink or a very unusual shade of blue.

John: Blue is usually associated with tremendous insightfulness, where you just know something. Pink is associated a little bit more with the shamanic quality – more like the color of the phoenix rising from the ashes.

So we have a combination of those two having come together. The blue is on one side of the heart, in the higher self, and the pink is an appreciation color in Creation, it’s more shamanistic. It’s like red: red is shamanistic, but in your dream it’s a pink color – it’s softened down. It’s softened down because you are experiencing recognition and realization.

In other words, you’re not just using your energy as a type of power that you don’t understand – you do understand what you’re doing. It’s very touching because there’s an angelic side of you that’s able to look out over the affairs of something.

That’s a very interesting access, or contact, that you’re able to see inside you, that becomes possible because you come to know the space with such appreciation that it causes this other thing to arise within it. Because you’ve touched that energetic, it just has to come out. It can’t stay dormant any longer – you’ve touched it.

At first it could be shocking, but then it’s just “boom!” – you’re there. When it comes out, then we can ask, “What degree of depth does it have?” From where in your subconscious are you bringing this across, and what are the greater qualities?

Then, as you keep holding this space, it keeps getting more and more angelic. In other words, you’re stroking something, in an indigenous Blackfoot way, with an appreciation that’s touching because you caught up with it. You’re no longer in so much bewilderment.

When you get out of the bewilderment you actually develop a way of listening and hearing something that, in your particular case, can hold that space – just straight out of the blue hold the space of that.

That’s a very deep dream, and I’m not even sure I’ve been able to do it justice.

Jeane: In this dream, I know you’re somewhere in the background, but my focus is on two, feminine, winged figures or entities. One’s quite large and standing there, and she has wings. The other one is similar is shape but smaller.

I’m just trying to bring them together. I’m trying to get these two angelic figures together in some way, by working with the breath. That was the first image.

John: There is the idea – long-held by many spiritual and religious belief systems – that we all carry in our nature a connection to guides – angelic or other energetic entities – that we’re able to bring close to us, both internally and externally, depending on how we are in our lives.

Such a connection has to do with a certain type of rootedness within Creation – meaning being more closely connected and aligned with the purposes of Creation, instead of the ego-based “purposes” of the human such as money and power.

In other words, these angels and entities are here for us, but in some ways our relationship with them is limited by our own thoughts and actions because an angelic essence can’t come close to us if our energy radiation is hostile to what it is.

By that I don’t mean whether we believe in them or not, it’s similar to the idea that none of us would go to a bad part of town, where we would feel uncomfortable or in danger. Who and what we are energetically determines how theses essences and connections can be with us.

Part of having a rootedness in Creation is to be able to give anchor to such guides and essences into life – into the world. That is part of the process that the human was designed to do. We need that rootedness as a safety from becoming swept away by energies that are too high for us to contain.

So, in your dream image, you are shown a larger effect and a lesser effect. You have to somehow consolidate these, bring them together, as powers or forces of your nature. Then you can effectively work with it (bring it into Creation), rather than just have it sweeping over you in an unconscious way.

The images are portraying the effort of bringing them together as an aspect of your lightbody, and as a realization of the significance of this in terms of how it reflects a masculine aspect of your self that gives access to it.

I’m actually not quite sure how to say it because the feminine carries the presence that’s able to bring it and hold it together in a state of completeness, as a container of one’s overall being, but there is something about the quality of the masculine that enables you to be able to sort this out and not get diffused by this energetic effect.

It can be a problem for many people when they gain a connection to these energetic forces (of a greater beingness of themselves), that they then don’t have the proper grounding to sustain it. In order to properly, or truly, realize a higher-self quality, it needs to be brought down and through, into Creation. When it is not properly grounded within, a person runs the risk of being overwhelmed by it.

That’s what you’re working with there. You’re trying to figure out how to take these guides, or these forces within, and make them a valid, sustainable inner aspect that you’re able to carry and embody as you go about in Creation.

To do that, you have to see how the large and small come together, how they work together, how they’re part of the overall that also takes into account the denser aspects in Creation. In other words, carry both the inner and the outer together, or you can’t actually carry either of them in their proper way.
