The Unfoldment Moment

spiral-550Ultimately, spiritual development always comes down to the difference between intellectually “knowing” or understanding something about life and the universe, and actually living what such a knowing might point us toward. In other words, we can’t “be in the moment” if we are constantly letting what happened yesterday, and our biases about tomorrow, guide what we’re doing right now. Then it comes down to the issue of whether we really do trust the universe to guide us, or not? John: The other dreams that I have, other than the meditation dream, all tend to correspond a lot with what you have. But the meditation dream seems to set the tempo of things again and it seems to run a pattern and a parallel. Seems to be a shift that I have to make as I meditate, so that this other is able to come through.

And so in the meditation dream, I see that when I catch up to all the energetic conditions of the outer, I realize that everything that is going on in life affects me. That I can’t ignore anything. That everything has a meaningfulness. So I’ve come to realize that whatever there is going on in life, that I am part of it energetically. I may have a mannerism where I may not like it, but it is what it is. I’m part of everything.

So, this is a realization. I’m able to realize that I am part of everything in the whole. I’m able to realize that and I’m able to denote that and I’m actually able to see that as a type of stillness in myself. Being able to see this as a stillness inside yourself is easier than realizing, and working with that, and being in tune with that, as you go through the flow of life.

So, it’s one thing to take and go inside and note it, but this whole thing has to go and be recognized and carried and maintained and sustained as you flow through life.

The flow or action in life is portrayed as an energetic and it uses a cookie as the symbolic effect of something that creates and draws an attention that leads to an action – and how does that intertwine with how something is, how that energetically fits as part of a deeper quality?

So, the cookie affects me in an action-oriented and flow way. It requires me to be steadily making instantaneous decisions as I flow through life. In other words, do I eat a cookie? Do I not eat a cookie? Do I enjoy the cookie? Do I settle back? Do I have another cookie?

All of that can be kind of a distraction to whatever it is that you might be trying to do, or needing to notice, that is also part of life. The cookie is part of it, too, and it has to be intertwined, so that you don’t lose the central note and whatnot. The recognition that everything that is going on has an effect upon the whole. And I can realize and recognize that in my quietness, in kind of that emptiness or the silence or the stillness, but can I recognize that in the flow of things? Where you’ve got a cookie happening and you’ve got this happening and that happening? Do you get off the flow at those points in time, or do you know how to factor that in to the whole consequential, singular vibration?

So, I’m able to embrace the conceptualization of how it is within. I’m able to recognize that in an emptiness or in a stillness. But in the outer, but doing so when the unfoldment flow is all about, is another thing.

So, it can become easy to let go of the inner awareness and try to affect the flow personally. Have the cookie. Enjoy the cookie, or whatever. In other words, it’s one thing to have the inner essence experience, it’s another thing to live it.

So I see this in the dream by being first very still in my nature. In other words, if I’m very still, I can see that I actually somehow know that there is this singular note that permeates through everything. And I can see it and I can accept it. I then have to deal with the flow that is all about me. In other words, coming into an aspect that has action to it, which is what you have when you come into manifestation. And I have to realize that the illusion of the outer is a whole other thing if I am not properly attentive to the one thing, and one thing only, that is affecting energetically in manifestation every appearance.

And finally, there is the challenge of recognizing the flow action in manifestation that is putting it together with the realized quiet all-inclusiveness I am in, from within. That is the quiet inner self. In other words, to have and carry and embrace both, so that one doesn’t blot out the other. Because if you can, then you’re able to be at peace and in a happiness in the ever unfoldment moment known as life.

At War

inner6Whether we want to admit it or not, we are in a state of war, one that is being waged between our inner urge to do what we were designed to do, and the fascinations and distractions of the outer world. In a sense, our life is at stake. Do we use this earthly experience to satisfy our personal desires, or do we use it to participate in the universal process? It’s a battle that can have only one winner. (At the end of this post there are instructions and a link to download this recording to your computer.)

John: I was just looking at how to describe something that I clearly know so I can see it inside, and both of my dreams indicate that I see and note this really clearly inside. But the dilemma I have is how do I bring this across so that it’s relatable to others?

The first dream has to do with how this works in relationship to the way things unfold in the outer. Well, both of them do, actually, but both of them have to do with how things are able to unfold in the outer because they both require a person to be aware from with inside of themselves how it is that things are unfolding.

Over the loudness of the dream is the oddity and the peculiarity of what is clearly imbedded in one’s nature as a knowing connectivity. It seems to be so hard and removed from others who from my perspective should be able to get this straightaway. To me it seems that obvious, but they don’t. That’s kind of the theme of the dreaming. We’ll see how your dreams do in relationship to it.

Jeane: So with my dreams, in the first dream it feels like a number of us are involved in a war. And what I’m primarily trying to do in this war is to stay hidden. Sometimes I’m staying hidden in a pile of people, but I just keep seeing moving around and primarily to be hidden. That’s the first dream.

John: Since I know what the dynamic of the energy is, what’s going on is that the part that is hidden is a part, a higher part, of your innerness and that’s what’s hidden. But in a war everything tends to be right there in front of you.

So the greatest contrast between inner and outer occurs when there is the element of something that’s like a war which totally engages your dense nature to having to take a position, or a stand. And when a person is in a state of war, in terms of themselves, or in an environment, the outer conditions of that can tend to traumatize a person to such a degree that they can actually come out and back from the war estranged from any good common sense sensibilities – because they had to contend so literally with that dense dynamic.

The element of a war felt in the way that a war is able to be felt in its dense dynamic, that is able to traumatize a person, it can leave a person’s psyche nature even more twisted and demented when they take and they contend with that, and that had to contend with it literally, and have no way of going to a greater depth and overall meaning in terms of themselves.

And so what you did is you took and you took these two contrasts and you say, okay, you’re in a state of war, which is true, when you’re in the outer you’re hit with forces and features that take and keep you veiled from seeing the greater dimension of things. And in the greater dimension of things it’s like a hiddenness by comparison to that which you take literally in the outer.

And so you’re making the simple statement that you need to keep track. You’re in a state of war, or there’s the element of a war, and then there is this hiddenness that you need to stay in touch with. That’s your sanity, staying in touch with the inner able to come through.

If you can’t, that’s why you see so many people coming back from wars that can never get their act together, they’re traumatized; can’t shake some traumatization that he took on that is a feature where he got slammed into something in such a dense way that it haunts him and he can’t set it aside so that he can catch up with the inner quality that wants to break through.

Now the problems is this inner quality is trying to break through, but it doesn’t quite come out and what he gets is scary images instead, all part of the trauma.

The Power Behind the Shadow

jung-shadow1In this dream imagery, John discusses “the shadow,” or the deeper truth behind the veil of our denser, outer world. It is a fact that whatever happens in the physical reality we experience, is first triggered in the worlds of energy. When we seek to see beyond the veils – the world of illusion, many say – we can begin to understand what is really at play. This can enable us to respond in a more meaningful way to these inner aspects, rather than to always react to the denser outplay. (At the end of this post there are instructions and a link to download this recording to your computer.)

John: So in my dream, or I should say after the main dream event, which I hadn’t written up yet, I’m standing before a couple of women who are discussing what they see as unfolding in relationship to a force of energy of some guy, and how that’s going to work out, or what that’s about, or whatever it is.

Well, I don’t allow them to carry on with their predilections or judgments or anything, and instead I just go, “I have a prediction about what is going to happen.” And so anybody who has a prediction about what is going to happen – everybody wants to hear that.

Oh, okay. So, I describe the unfoldment as exemplifying a trait that is ordinarily viewed as a negative quality. I indicate that this is portraying the power of the shadow, and what the shadow can do.

I indicate that ordinarily the shadow is transformed by the higher self, but in this story, or the way of just telling the story and looking at the story in a black-and-white way, in terms of the denseness of the outer, the power of the shadow is what is being talked about or portrayed as dominant.

In other words, you’re not seeing what’s behind that shadow because, in a dense world, you just see the denseness of things. So, as I’m explaining that to them, I suddenly wake up. I don’t finish the story, but I don’t need to finish the story because I know the energetic behind this.

And so now I have to address the dream, the story dream that they were talking about, and that is about an action and its amazing effect. And in the main dream there’s a person who, against all odds, just keeps persevering. Everyone else has taken a step back because persevering against the harsh outer conditions, the best one can hope for is happen chance fate because the outer conditions have all kinds of collateral effects going on all the time, and results that then lead to what can be a very painful and, in the end, very foolhardy thing to do.

So this person, who has this indomitable attitude, comes before a friend, who is probably me, and there’s a third person, so accompanying me is my shadow, and says, “Let’s go, we could do this together.”

In doing this, in spite of appearances, the result will go down in history. In other words, even he knows that what is projecting and perceiving is going against the grain of things, but his force of nature, the shadow aspect of his resolve, wins me over as if maybe my shadow gets caught up in it.

And some part of me knows the subtle difference is something more, because, if I didn’t, common sense would tell me to let go of such outward projection, because such mannerisms tend to be over-the-top, leave something to be desired in the end, and get smashed because they can disregard the subtle difference, the in-the-bones vibration, or that aspect which is real behind the appearances.

Well, anyway, this also is where the main dream ends. So what is going on here is like the shadow force of the guy that doesn’t seem to let go because, actually, is it really a shadow? That’s what you tend to see, that’s a level of seeing, or is it something behind it that’s in the bones and he has to do it anyway, even if it’s ridiculous?

Somehow it sways the shadow side in me, against the common sense of my higher self, or so it seems. So it is like I have taken a step back to be able to hear about the force of energy as it is being reviewed, in other words, this is the women sitting around talking now. I’ve taken a step back to be able to perceive it.

And I’m seeing it through the eyes, or I’m about to see it through the eyes of the two women, and they could easily put a spell on it because they’d be judging it from just the appearances in the outer. So I interrupt and I say, “I have a prediction on the outcome.”

And as I’m portraying it, my heart gets real tender because I’m in touch with how this is able to work out. Well I am, in that sense, shaping the appearance as being a most amazing result and I have characterized this as being an example of the power behind the shadow, and what it can do when focused in an indomitable and not-to-be-denied way.

Of course I know it’s more than the shadow, but if they’re going to look at it in an outer context, then be careful because there is more than just the shadow – and that’s what comes out in the meaning. Things aren’t what they seem.

I preface it as being like that, like a shadow, by saying to the two women I am making a prediction, but always the way you need to be is you need to take into account all of the levels of flow. And when you see a force of nature outward expression, that may appear to be too much, always ask the question, what is really going on behind this?

Because maybe it’s not as naïve as it appears, maybe there is something more. There always is, it’s just to what degree is it veiled? In other words, don’t underestimate the power of a shadow that goes forth in the outer, but is reflective to something behind it, even though that is hard to denote and then sometimes can be kind of off.

And that’s where letting go and true forgiveness comes in from the feminine or I will never see that, and instead we’ll just perceive abuse and misuse, and all of that, because from an inner vibration that is how a need shifts.

What I’m portraying in this dream is that when conduct and action and the physical world is seen only from the outer motif, the tendency is to not recognize what is going on. As I say in speaking about that level of reality only, as if that’s a reality – the denseness – to the two women is to not underestimate the power of the shadow because there’s more behind it.

It may not be what is really going on. Look to the unseen depth to unveil what is behind it all. I can say all of this because I am the shadow at each stage of the journey, that I have peeled the shadow back to touch an essence seeking its way.

So when a situation is like that, wherein a connection from subtle to dense exists, to understand the process it is necessary to take into account the whole thing, all the levels of inner into outer, and not just see the dense mannerism per se. It is that which is behind appearances and expression that therein lies something that can be real and is real if you can see it, if you can peel it back like that.

You can only do that by stopping a doingness, in the nature of the feminine, and go into an emptiness that enables you to recognize that, to reach a point where you can see that and denote an appreciation that stretches out to all there is in the outer. Because the denseness is not necessarily as senseless as it seems.

It is senseless if you judge it, but if you don’t judge it, you can redeem it, and there’s something behind that as a consequence that’s meant to be lived.
