Taking It On

spiritualityIn this dream image, Jeane lets a job opportunity pass her by – all while complaining about how things are being done. On a spiritual path, taking on more responsibility means becoming more conscious of what we are doing and why we are doing it. In other words, it is our responsibility to steer our inner lives in the direction of our yearning. (At the end of this post there are instructions and a link to download this recording to your computer.)

Jeane: Well, the main dream I had I was working in an office and there’s a reorganization going on. And the man in charge indicates to me another man that he’s going to put in charge at a certain level.

It’s a position I could have tried for but I didn’t. It was kind of a brunette guy that takes that position, and then he kind of sits a little distant in another area.

And I’m studying what’s going on with the organization and I can feel that, ultimately, at some level I’m somewhat disappointed with the organization that’s going on right now, on the outer, that it’s almost like it’s paying attention to things on a certain level. And it seems too shallow to me and is not how I’d hoped things would go or something.

So it’s like I’m just studying that. That’s all I really remember as far as dreams last night.

John: Well, the dream even portrays a bit of what is meant to be if a part of you wasn’t as sluggish, in terms of having lowered the energy of yourself in some fashion, like we were talking about earlier.

Of course, in this case, that has resulted in the outer in terms of you coming down with this horrendous cold. And when I usually come down with a cold sometimes it sharpens my clarity, but for you it acts reflectively, in terms of an imbalance, in terms of how you’re carrying yourself in the outer.

In other words, it has a different reflective effect. And in your dream, you portray this condition a bit in terms of something that is important that isn’t living itself out the way that it needs to be able to live itself out.

What you’re indicating is that you know that you could have been, or should have been, directing, or steering, or in charge of something in the place where you are situated. You know that. You knew that that was there as a potentiality, but you didn’t take it on. And, as a consequence, things are not… I mean where you find yourself instead complaining and disappointed in how it is that things are unfolding.

And the thing about an image like that and it actually is actually a teaching type dream that I have to take into account, in terms of myself, is that when you find yourself grumbling and complaining about how something is when you had every opportunity, in terms of the potentiality, to be involved in the directing and the leadership of what was unfolding and turned it down, that in the complaining, in that mannerism, you actually even veil yourself from the answer that could open right up in front of you.

And the reason is because you were at the cusp of being able to steer or direct something and didn’t take it on means that you’re now plagued by having veiled that role or that station that you’re meant to catch up with.

And so what the dream also indicates, in the case of me, is no wonder I am so grumbly and uptight and disturbed by how it is that I see things in the outer and it’s because it’s a precursor to having to take on a more direct way of steering it, or journeying, in terms of the unfoldment.

In your case it took you to the point where you apparently, as far as one could see, you had all the qualifications and yet you said no. And whenever you do that you become more sluggish when your energy slows down and a part of you can’t get happy about things, or content about things, or can’t find its cadence and orientation because life unfolds. It doesn’t go backwards very well.

When it goes backwards there is often times a type of cringing effect that is somewhat memorable, although 95%, or something like that, kind of suppressed and unconscious is still there kind of nickering about. And so you have a sense of a knowingness inside of what is being asked of you, and is waiting patiently for you to get back on track. Isn’t that interesting?

Connecting-with-True-SelfIn this dream, Jeane makes a stand against an injustice she feels strongly about and ends up in a chase dream trying to flee her pursuer. What’s interesting is to follow the relationship between the masculine and the feminine in this dream, because what is being shown is an injustice happening on the inner level, yet with the same familiarity of what happens between the genders in the physical world. (At the end of this post there are instructions and a link to download this recording to your computer.)

Jeane: In this last dream I go with a carload of family or friends, it feels like mostly women, to a small town. And we stop, and we look around, and we go in a building and it feels like this building is where there’s a lot of gambling going on.

And the owner and his cronies, they seem really nice but it’s actually kind of rigged like they kind of pull you into this really friendly place where people win and stuff, and then they take you over to their other building and it’s really to get people hooked on gambling – and they particularly do this to the Indian tribes that live nearby.

And I feel some need to expose what’s going on, so I start going around agitating and stirring things up a bit. And in that process I’m separated from the group I’m with and the man in charge starts to pursue me.

And I remember once I’m going down a long hallway that actually comes one way, and then it turns to the left, and all along this hallway are what look like phone stations where you have to reach up and pull down the phone. So I could call my friends, or try to get some help, but every time I pull one it’s only acting like a bell or an alarm. It won’t act like a phone like it’s supposed to.

So I just have to give up on that. Then I decide that one of the wisest places to hide is the guy that’s chasing me has a loft bed and, you know, loft beds are built such that when you’re up in them other people are down below and they can’t see you. So I go hide in his loft bed and he comes down below after awhile with his girlfriend.

And I feel like I’m going to make problems for him, so I fuss around so she becomes aware there’s someone else in his bed. Then I want to make a getaway, but my feet are a little tangled up and it takes me awhile. I almost get caught because I have trouble getting my feet out from under the covers.

Meanwhile, I’ve gotten his girlfriend mad at him and I use that as a distraction to kind of get a little more distance and hightail it, looking for my friends again. I thought maybe they’d gone to the first casino or building we were in and they’re not there. And again I’m looking for a place in town that feels safe, I think, and that was when my alarm went off and I woke up.

John: It’s kind of a complicated dream in which it’s the feminine’s way of disclosing a frustration that it feels, but doing it in a very courageous way. In other words, you can tell that around you life has gotten to the point where the innocence of things, like the indigenous tribes, is being contaminated by the influence and the power of the environment.

And that you, while you’re with your friends, are kind of in a state of amnesia to that, or just living incoherently to it, but as you break yourself free from that you find yourself taking on a righteous reaction.

That righteous reaction is like a type of reporting of the issue. Even though you are functioning in what looks like outer images, you’re actually complaining and reporting this issue in an inner-capacity way even though the living of it as a dream image is taking that vibration and putting images to it.

So what you’re doing is you do this in two ways. One is you have to get very sober and by yourself to contend with the fact that you consider this gambling indoctrination that is going on, which is sucking in the indigenous helplessly, is too much. It’s horrible.

And, in the same token, you recognize this to be kind of a masculine problem because you actually, in terms of doing what you did, you went to some inner depth of yourself, which was like going into an upper loft of a masculine setting or foundation. And so the masculine thinking that it has its way with things in life, you realize and recognize that in the loudness of your outrage you’re able to disturb that casual acquiescence on its part that it can do what it pleases.

And so in acting up, what you do is you are causing it to be exposed, in terms of its mannerisms, in terms of how it is affecting or treating creation. You cause it to be exposed. In other words, this is a type of reporting, this is a type of energetic, connective linkage kind of as a rising up from the outer towards the inner. That’s the vibrational flow. That’s the effect of the feminine.

It’s kind of like a rising up. It’s odd in that everything kind of goes to the inner but there’s the illusion, in terms of how to describe it, in terms of how it’s done. It almost seems like the effect upon the outer is such that you can take and, somehow or another, in a type of reaction, cause it to be noted, hold it accountable, not allow it to be swept under the rug, make it a loudness that the masculine, or the powers and controls of an imbalance, will find that it’s impossible to think that they can exist in a state of peace and calm acting like that.

So that’s an interesting way of registering a complaint. It’s a good one. It seems to work. It’s not like you have the answer, yourself, but you know how to register the complaint.

Jeane: Yes, I do.

The Dialogue of the Whole

As Above So Below-Vandorn-HinnantThe recent theme has been about reaction actions or, said another way, how our established patterns veer us off from our connection to the Whole. We all have such patterns, triggered as defense mechanisms or fears, etc., but here John describes how our interaction with the physical world is really a dialogue with the universe, which, with the right conscious awareness, can bring us closer to the ways of what is unfolding. (At the end of this post there are instructions and a link to download this recording to your computer.)

John: So in the next dream, there’s a woman who keeps projecting a mannerism that purports to be okay. When I see her as weakened, or sick, I assume that this is just a passing mannerism, because I also see her as projecting herself to be okay.

So another person I know is able to help her out, because he notices the condition and is readily responsive to the need – but I don’t emulate that. I keep thinking and assuming that it’s all passing. Therefore I don’t necessarily respond in the moment, because I am seeing the condition as not that big a deal.

This other person doesn’t have that demeanor, and isn’t distracted. This person is able to drop whatever he is doing, and however he happens to be at a given point in time, to be receptive to the situation.

In the dream the situation occurs twice. The first time I am too busy to notice. The guy is able to, as I’m even responding to him, he has even recognized, well, I am on some tangent in my nature. The first time I notice this I feel an embarrassment by such lack of connective awareness. The second time this happens, I am in the scenario, and do not see the reaching out.

In other words, the reaching out from the woman. In other words, she’s doing it quietly. This guy steps forward to respond to the call for help that I miss yet again.

The meaning of this is, the theme of the dreams last night dealt with the reactions actions of our nature. In the first dream, I am shown that I am unable to appreciate an empty space within, if I am always responding reflectively.

In the second dream I am shown that I am not able to be where needed when my attention is concerned in some way or another. The dream embarrasses me by pointing out how unreceptive I am when I am on a side tangent.

This last one looks kind of different, but what it is is it’s a break from a rigidity pattern where you have to simply get it – and break the pattern. So I’m looking at a series of entries that are like what you see in a check register, except this is a long column on a single page. You know, columns with entries.

There is one line left at the bottom of the page for another entry, but it’s a little bit like a checkbook where every line is about something that has to be paid for and dealt with. The entry that is anticipated on this line is more of the same like what’s above.

And, of course, that’s how I’ve been making the entries. They all have to do with give and take on things. I know something needs to change, and I wake up realizing that what is needed is a cash out entry. That would complete the above, so that top to bottom it zeros out.

The meaning is I am using this image as a get-off answer to the treadmill of reaction action. I can feel the quietness of this way of letting go. The way that fits of course with the dream before is, until you do that, you’re always going to have the reaction action of the pulse of things, and you’re not going to be able to recognize the subtleness of things around you, the inflections of things around you, that you need to be attentive to.

You’re only going to be responding to the obvious as an understanding that rises up inside of you, instead of taking into account the greater Wholeness, and all the other levels that are there, as well, which aren’t being taken into account if you’re just responding to your synapses.

A human being, he has a huge problem here because he’s in a human body that’s taking all these blows, and those blows carry memories, and those memories carry inflections, and reflections, and all of that also is part of higher self and all of that gets fed to you.

And so you create a collage with that, and you find yourself responding, and the tendency, because you’re coming off of the senses and stuff, your tendency is to stay very linear, and you do a lot of damage that way because you miss, then, where your attention and your closeness needs to be in terms of the greater Whole.

And there’s a greater closeness in the greater Whole, too, when you take into account all the levels because there’s appreciation, and there’s a graciousness. There’s a deep touching that exists when you see that that’s all naturally meant to be like that. And you suffer when you are off on some tangential resolution, as if you have a right to make tangential resolutions that are black-and-white.

You need to go from that, all the way to the subtle. You need to take all of it into account simultaneously. That’s the play. The quietness is still the quietness, even though it inflected something into, and caused a creation to be there. It’s still a quietness. It’s still a joke. It’s still just a flicker that’s done there in order to create a wave, or something, that wouldn’t be there if it wasn’t for the flicker, but it’s still a quietness.

The key is, just because it took and threw this curve that you identified and got lost in the curve, you accept the curve. The curve is you as well. This curve has been thrown out, and at the same time you backdoor the curve all the way to the point of the quietness again. And so it’s all a joke.

It’s all kind of a big laugh. It’s kind of like no different than a person who cracks these jokes. They go along, and everything is serious, and they can’t handle the seriousness, so they crack a joke. And that joke is a curve to the whole situation that’s in front of you, and you’re supposed to let go, and lighten up, and be able to laugh at it because it’s just a curve.

So we have this going on all the time, even in the outer in terms of our correlations back and forth with each other, and yet the big each other is a Oneness that’s with this whole dialogue of the Whole. And we get lost in the reactions, and the reactions cause us to get narrow, and when we get narrow, we lose the bigger schematic.
