speed2In our daily lives, it can often takes years of trial and error and struggle before we become aware of certain psychological limitations in us and learn how to overcome them. In spiritual dream work, it is understood that such changes can be made at a deeper level, in the less conscious realms of our being, in a matter of a few dreams or days, particularly if we make ourselves conscious of the process. This can save us much tribulation in the outer world, and speed us on our journey. (At the end of this post there are instructions and a link to download this recording to your computer.)

John: In the other dream I had last night, I’m still dealing with a situation that’s in flux. I’ve missed the usual flight that I’m to take out, and so I’m scrambling to get to the airport to catch the second flight. And I’m getting there plenty early, or trying to get there plenty early, even though I know the flight is probably going to be delayed.

And these people, when it comes to this flight, have a tendency to lie to you and never tell you the truth about anything. I’m trying to get there prepared for whatever might come up, whatever the unexpected is.

And of course this goes along with what I’m feeling in the outer, now that everything is kind of all up in the air, and that there’s no way to make clear heads or tails sense out of it, and that what you’re contending with you need to figure out how to just flow with, or otherwise it will tear you apart.

And that the challenge of the dream is for me to be able to see if I can just note that this is what the condition is, or the situation, and just adjust myself accordingly, leaving plenty of time, room, space, whatever is required, for variables that are likely because this is a time when the involvements in the outer are subject to change at a moment’s notice.

And so I can’t go feeling distraught, or pout, about the idea that it should be this way or that way, And when I’m able to simply accept what’s going on, as if that’s the norm, the thing that I’m able to see is that the end result is kind of like a straight strip, or arrow, that goes and takes me all the way out of the problem, something I totally didn’t expect is just simply there and suddenly visible.

In other words, there’s nothing really so much to stress for and that probably wouldn’t have been noticed or recognized or caught up with if I had gone through the reactivities and gotten those reactivities in the way. I’m seeing this as another mode or way of contending with things having to recognize the polarities of things.

This phase and aspect of dreaming only comes up when you are at a point where something in your nature is able to weigh, balance, and work with the energetic variables, which are in the environment, that you’re able to denote those subtle variables, accept those subtle variables, and factor those in.

And so when you have a dream like this, what you’re doing is, even though the dream doesn’t seem like much, the dream is actually presenting you with an energetic combination that you learn to, and see yourself, adopt and adapt and accommodate, and so if you do this in the inner, then no matter how complicated or beat up or thrown around you are in the outer, because the inner carries this greater dimensionality in the way that it brings something through, that even if the outer is still awry it’s subject to now having to change because the one or two seconds of speed of what you do in the inner is so much greater than a year, or something, in the outer.

So this makes time relative in that it can seem that you’re getting pretty contended and tortured and thrown around in the outer, and from the mental way of understanding time, it’s like you’re hardly making progress, so you think, based upon how the circumstances are hitting you in the outer, but on the level where it counts from the inner, you’re making huge strides, and so you’re actually really progressing forward.

Those who don’t strive to open up and make this kind of connection, take themselves outside of this loop of potentiality that really shapes and guides and moves something forward very, very, very quickly. This is what it means when it is said that on this path, the hardest part is the toughest two years at the beginning, where everything that is thrown at you involves shadow and various other dynamics that have to be sorted out, and have to be understood, and have to be grasped because as long as that remains in the way then you can’t catch up with this other that carries you forward and makes things easier.

The pulling of it out can seem odd because your dreams that are awkward and more difficult, maybe it can even seem, especially if you’re not willing to do the work or something, but when that occurs, the forward motion that this leads to is beyond comparison.

This is when you finally are catching up with something that makes the process easier, so to speak, when before it’s most bewildering with all that shadow dynamic and such that seems to be barriers that you have to contend with for a long, long time.

Fighting through that though, is when you get the split-second inflective energetics within a dream that are worth hours, and days, and years perhaps even, in terms of the outer.

2worldsContinuing the theme from yesterday’s post (see The Burden), on a spiritual path we become quickened by the energy of our inner connections. At that point, it becomes an issue of maintaining that inner access, or holding that energetic space within in us, so that we become a conduit, or a change agent, or a bridge between two worlds. This enables higher energy to come through us and into manifestation – into life. This is a high aspect of being in service to something greater than ourselves. (At the end of this post there are instructions and a link to download this recording to your computer.)

John: So when you’re speeded up in the morning, or when you’re animated in a particular way where it’s like you are on adrenaline or something, and you’re just really quickened and everything is just snapping, and your husband is saying, Jiminy Christmas, what did you do, have three cups of coffee this morning, instead of one, because you’re going too fast for him?

That’s okay. That’s okay. In other words, don’t allow yourself to be chained again. Just realize that yes, you may have to figure out how to polish and temper, but don’t let go of that speed.

And learn to speak with the energetic in a way so that it doesn’t set off the denseness, the loudness, or the denseness quite so loudly. This guy that I know downstairs was trying to explain to me… In other words, he in his day was the expert around the world of a certain kind of way of operating on the head and around the mouth and all of that area.

And he would get these patients from around the world, and he would tell them like for example if they started on an antibiotic, that yes, you are going to feel good if you take it for three days, but you’re supposed to take it for seven or ten or whatever it is.

And he said the way he would try to get them to understand it is he would say, well, the antibiotic has wiped out all the women and children in the first three days, but the old guys they’re still there. They’re the harder ones to get rid of, and so you feel much better having wiped out 70% of it, but you still have that 30% and you have to take that antibiotic all the way through to get the last ones.

And the problem with those last ones, and then he explains to me how a virus works in relationship to the reproduction of the cells, and a virus reproduces and reproduces very, very quickly, and a cell it takes a while for it to reproduce. And so the mutations are more likely because of the nature of the density of things in terms of the way a virus is constantly imposing itself.

So his point being is you have to hold the energetic, you have to hold a particular quality, in order for it to be effective. And the holding of that, in this example, just take the antibiotics all the way through. Holding in this example is the recognition that your body has something imbedded in it that has a clarity to it.

And then you have the physicality of the viruses, which are everywhere, that can strip you down. And you can cater your attention into that, and it will tear you down. Or you can have yourself in a kind of energetic that is at the essence of everything, and this will help maintain a better well being for yourself.

I thought that was an interesting way of looking at it. I had never thought of that.

Ann: Boy. My goodness. That is an excellent explanation isn’t it? Wow.

John: It’s an excellent explanation. When you’re out and you’re working and you’re around somebody that is reacting to how it is in terms of the way you’re talking, and the way you’re acting, you have to be careful about this, but it’s kind of like a virus from them that’s attempting to pull you down and mutate you back into the collective.

But at the same time you can’t reject what they’re doing because, where is the masculine principle in terms of its raw energy prima materia that you have to take in and absorb and transform, which also is important for the change agent in life?

That’s running on a counter thread. What you have to do is you have to be kind of a soldier of both worlds, somehow. In other words, it’s like if something is agitating you, you don’t go into a tiff, and adopt an attitude or a mood, secretly try to backstab it, because that is not something you get away with because it’s known on an etheric level. It’s felt on an etheric level.

You have to embrace and accept it as it is, so that it can have the space, to catch up with the speed. But if you don’t like the reaction, and now you’re attempting to do something, or make a point about the reaction, some subtle hint or mannerism in your nature trying to get a dig in or something, and doing it in kind of a serendipitous way, instead of an outward way, just by a mannerism and way you carry yourself or something – that is fighting the darkness, so to speak, and intensifying it, instead of winning it over with a sweet touch.

So this is all correlated to the speed, if you think about it, and going fast inside yourself and yet, at the same time, knowing how to do this that’s more on a proximity to light, knowing how to do this, or learning how to do this, so that you’re not a wrecking machine either, because you have no right to step on anybody else, to violate their space.

So how do you do this? This is where the skill comes in, or the consciousness comes in, to know how to bring it through in such a way so that it is graspable and understandable.

Now when you’re in this vibration, you’re convinced, you have convinced yourself, that you can make this happen for them, that they will get it, because you’re drinking it, they can drink it. This is a big fallacy that one gets caught up in, and then you lose the compassion. You lose the care. You lose the graciousness.

And the next thing you know, you’re pounding and they’re fighting back, and now everybody is stabbing each others’ heart. And then the veils come in, and there is no clarity about anything.

So this is why it is said, in Sufism, to learn to talk with the energetic. When you learn to talk with the energetic, and learn to say the first thing that comes vibrationally up, you don’t sit and think about it and measure your words to make sure everything is just completely copacetic.

And so as a consequence, you can say things that aren’t exactly true even. However, what’s so interesting is, you will get taught. You are going to get taught, if it’s not true. You may get corrected.

Like for example, I used to think that the body filtered out ultraviolet and ultra infrared, and the reason why it filtered both of these two extremes of the spectrum out, was because they both had an effect upon the body that it couldn’t handle, that tore it down.

Actually, it’s they’re both filtered out, they are for different reasons. I’m right on the ultraviolet. You know it’s a transcendent energy that’s too much for the body to handle the vibration coming in. It has a radioactive quality to it.

But the reason why you filter out the infrared is, it works too much with a density and a magnetism. You don’t want to turn yourself into a rock, so to speak, or get too dense.

A person factors out the little red tends to factor out infrared because it’s working more with the iron element inside of matter – as a gravity.

And so an example of this is the MRI machine. When you go into an MRI machine it does not work very well with bones because bones are dense, and everything is frozen solid and doesn’t have the translucent quality as much as the flesh.

And so it’s better to use an MRI machine or an x-ray. MRI works by cutting, taking it in slivers and breaking the slivers down and creating an imagery that way, to see what’s going on, because the motion is more set in a bone.

An x-ray is somewhat similar, a little bit different description, but there’s something besides an MRI that takes the slivers and an MRI I guess is the full body scan. And it works with the gravity of the iron in your makeup of your being, and it is able to pull that and move that inside of the flesh, and therefore get an image of that and can see things that normally wouldn’t be visible and seeable.

That’s working with gravity. It’s reading things by the ability to attract the iron in the blood and the flesh, which is hard and can’t be quite done in something that’s bone.

And that’s why you have to take the slices of it, or you have the x-ray. The slices of it is called something else. An MRI is I think the full-body scan. I forget what they call it when you can take slice ribbons and then put it together as a picture, that is similar along the lines of how an x-ray works. That kind of density can be a little bit much for the body.

And you know people for example that look at things so anal retentively that you can’t get them to grasp a fresh idea because they have to put it within the parameters of their given. So if they had more infrared mannerism to their nature, they would be in even worse shape because they would be having to be even more retentive. That’s why there’s that parameter.

The ultraviolet principle is a principle in which the magnetism is such that it’s more than what the body can bear, and has to be filtered out, and it’s filtered out by, you might say, the atmosphere of the way manifestation is.

In other words, what I was told was it is extremely hard on a person who gets sent into outer space, because they get subjected to the radiation. To the radiation of outer space. They don’t have that quality of things that’s a gravitational field, and the way that works to keep you from being hit by all of that radiation.

And so the point is yeah, I love Star Trek and whatnot, but in reality it could never be, because you can’t be exposed to that kind of radiation without being torn to pieces. You’re protected in manifestation and earth from that which is a quality of an ultraviolet.

When you raise your consciousness, you’re developing the consciousness of the universe. You’re figuring out a way to work with the ultraviolet. At the same time you are learning how to become more grounded. You’re learning how to contend with the infrared.

And you’re learning that yes, you have your physical eyes and your physical senses and that is part of what maintains manifestation that has a certain ego quality nature effect but you can touch and feel it and it can be something viable for you to play in and to influence, kind of in a co-creator way of the will of the vibration of something that is the essence that’s in a stillness.

Yes, you can have that, and then you can have this other. And they do not look like they come together, but they’re one and the same, just in different states. Just like sound is one state, and light is another – and yet they are the same.

So you can talk about it in this scientific sense, we’ll say, or you can talk about it in just the mundane. How do you get by, waking up in the morning, you’re blessed or graced by this quality that’s going on inside of you, and that gives you an edge in a way because of this path.

It gives you an edge that enables you to cope in manners that others cannot cope because they do not have that about them.

enlightenmentOne of the very interesting aspects of dream work is that it allows changes to take place at a much deeper, inner level. What this points to is an ability to accept, or let go of, personal psychologies at the level where they reside – in the unconscious. So, something that might take years to sort out through interactions in daily, outer, life, can be worked through in the minutes, hours, or nights of dreaming. Here, John gives us a description of this process. (At the end of this post there are instructions and a link to download this recording to your computer.)

Jeane: In the first dream I had, it’s like I’m somewhere where there are a number of people, and I’ve gone into a room to talk to a guy. It’s almost like we’re all high school age, or college age at the most, and this guy is one of three brothers.

And it’s almost like I’m pretending I’m going out with him, but I’m really waiting until his brother shows up. When I’m in there, we’re suddenly talking. He says he knows that I’m really just with him until his brother shows up, because that’s just always the way it is. Everybody likes him until they see his brother, and then they want to be with his brother.

And he’s even joking about it. It’s almost like something he accepts. For some reason, when he does all this it suddenly makes him slightly more interesting to me, because I tell him it’s kind of like that with me sometimes with my sister, too, because we’re at that age when she kind of looked a little bit like Marilyn Monroe.

So I kind of understand it, and the fact that I understand it and that he sees all of this, and has a sense of humor about it, suddenly makes him a little more interesting to me even, than his brother. And that was the first dream.

John: That’s the quality of being able to recognize. In other words, one of the influences of the dream, one of the effects, has to do with a type of raw energy. And the degree to which it’s actually accepted, and when it’s accepted, it changes things completely.

If you don’t accept it, then something that’s more refined seems more interesting, but when there’s the raw energy, and you can see that the raw energy is comfortable being the raw energy, in other words it’s just not unconscious raw energy which is just all over the place like a drunken sailor or something, then it’s more interesting because the nature of raw energy is that it has an access through its density.

In other words, it’s like everything is balanced, and if you have a certain degree of refinement, and you then tend to approach life in a smoother, more cadent way, things are a little more rhythmic, and that can also lead to not much going on. And if things are all in a certain kind of skew, if that skew is carried okay, then there can be an interesting revealing.

And so you’re playing with the nuance; it’s almost as if you’re handed a puzzle where you’re saying, okay, this is more whole, and this is more incomplete, and that which is more whole is maybe more rounded but doesn’t have a certain degree of something else as yet, an unfolding potentiality.

And so when you see the raw energy, and the raw energy being carried, there is an unfolding potentiality that the other doesn’t have, because it requires something because it has this linkage that has been normalized, and something that’s more kosher, or deemed more appropriate.

I actually used to look at this trait in a whole other way of looking at it. I used to look at it in terms of I.Q. and aptitude. I was having to look at it because I realized that a rounded component nature was not what I was born with or bestowed.

And so I had to wonder where that went and so I would take and I would look at those who seemed to have a naturalness about them that was balanced, and where things kind of seemed to come to them effortlessly. And I noticed, as life progressed, that they didn’t go very far.

It’s not that they didn’t have a good life. They got good educations, they got good jobs, they took on roles in society that were deemed to be something that people put on a pedestal. But deep down I realize that only went to that particular point and stopped, because nothing prodded them further.

And it takes this raw energy, or some intangible, it’s like a friction, or something that takes and grates and rubs. It’s that which has to merge, or that you have to accept and work with, and live, and carry. It’s that which creates the interest of something able to break through, or reveal things in a dynamic way.

It’s that kind of energy that actually has something back, deeper behind it than something that has everything, all the edges worked off and is all smooth and rounded. I used to look at that in terms of spiritual paths. It’s like other spiritual paths, I notice some people carry themselves with a certain respect and honor that you need to bestow them, but they can’t dive into themselves beyond a certain depth. And yet at the same time, they hold an equanimity where they don’t get thrown around quite as much, either.

It’s just now coming to my attention how it is that this distinction in the process, in the science of awakening, works and it is based upon levels of speed. You have one level of speed in the outer ,and you have another level of speed on the inner, a much greater level of speed on the inner. If you have a balanced nature, then there’s nothing compelling you, as a need, to go at a greater speed on the inner. So you tend to go along with that balance in the outer, and so you don’t emerge or grow as quickly.

There’s an intrigue that gets lost. You look good initially, but it only goes so far. If you have something that has to be handed across, or surrendered, the surrendering of that is a surrendering into a greater speed. That greater speed knocks off outer process – the seconds of that knock off days, years of outer process – so you’re going at a much more dynamic clip inside.

Now a person who catches up with some of that, but is still carrying the raw energy in an outer context, can be seen as a little bizarre, a little awkward, a little uncultured by something that has taken and codified the qualities in a tranquilized way. But if you look and recognize more closely, it is that characteristic, which requires the greater need in terms of the surrender, that has the potentiality of scoping out the furthest, or going further.

But you don’t notice this so much on a routine inner/outer casual way of looking at things. The reason is because the raw energy of the person in the outer, is going to still tend to make them look a little less balanced because they haven’t taken on the mores of everybody else, and yet the degree to which they’re going on the inner, because it’s so much faster, that they accumulate the karma of the outer at a certain speed, and they accumulate the breakthroughs on the inner at another speed.

So, if you have the speed of the inner at ten, and you have the speed of the outer at one, and ten and one is eleven, and you meet in the middle, you’re going at 5 ½. But if you’re a balanced person, and you have a speed in the outer of five or four, and then you have a speed on the inner that isn’t much different, like at six, so the changes are slower, and you meet in between, you’re only at a five. It’s lesser. It’s not as quick. It’s not as interesting. It’s not as dynamic.

And that’s why it’s said that in a spiritual process, the person who has the most to overcome has the most that can be gained. And that’s also why it’s said that you have to live life first, before you have something to let go of, or to surrender.

And so your dream is reflecting that. In other words, you have distinguished that in terms of somehow or another your ability to absorb, or to handle, or to carry, or to be shaken awake in your own capacity. It’s not going to happen if you’re in a situation that’s kind of like milquetoast. If you’re in a situation in which you’re challenged, and required to have to contend with things that you are compelled to have to absorb, and to take into account, and balance out, that is what makes life more interesting. And that is the process upon which you grow better.

Sure, you could define a life that has better appearance, and looks a little this way, and a little that way, and takes off the certain rough edges straightaway. But if you do that, then on the surface that can seem to make things better, but on the level of where it really counts on the inner, or as you call it, the more interesting inflection, something gets lost.

That’s how your dream worked.
