A Balanced View

John: Last time we ended by touching on some of the different aspects between the masculine way of approaching something, and the feminine way of approaching something. I think it’s interesting to explore a bit more, because we can see how it is playing out both in our dreams and in our waking life processes (see Set in Motion).

Generally, I’m too much off the ground, and that’s a natural aspect of the masculine. You experience the world with a certain fundamental rootedness, and that’s a naturally feminine aspect.

What that means is that you view, and experience, and have appreciation for things through the lens of how they fit and where they belong as part of the wholeness. For example, if we both experience the sun shining, or a sunset, or an animal running across the field, those experiences don’t necessarily register with me as being meaningful. I can easily dismiss them because I’m much less rooted in the whole. But you can be touched by the meaningfulness of those events immediately.

So your rootedness allows you to embrace the whole much better, while I’m inclined to miss its importance unless I find a way to ground it in me. At a speeded-up pace, I’m comparatively faster in assessing the motion of things, and I can quickly get a sense of what is going on, but it might not have tangibility or meaningfulness until I root it into life – into creation.

Generally, when things come up in life, you will be much better at establishing where it might belong in the overall scheme of things, and I can more quickly discern what is needed as a next step. The thing is, we both need both aspects. The next step can’t be accurately assessed without it being understood in the context of the whole (rooted).

If you see something more as a setness and it doesn’t go into motion, it will have to go through a number of different levels in you before you can get to a stage of appreciation. I have to go from a level of speed and motion that is somewhat detached from things – that doesn’t get its hands dirty – down into something rooted and pull it through. That is the process of taking what one sees and penetrating it right down into life, where it can hold a particular setness.

So this is an interesting dynamic that’s shifting around between us. What it’s doing is allowing you to better see how to appreciate the masculine quality that functions in this other capacity (motion), and helps bring things into life, because you already have a very set, solid container quality.

What I am being shown is that I have an acuity that’s too fast, too mercurial, and that I need to ground it (connect to the feminine), in order to really get a sense of what something is.

When you mix in the decisions and changes involved in our moving to Las Vegas, we’re seeing the two extremes. I find it difficult to get rooted into the atmosphere of this place because the environment is so stirred up I find it disorienting.

And you’re sitting there trying to figure out what is below that dizzying surface – what is meaningful. You get a sense that I see something meaningful. I get a sense that you see something rooted. I can’t get to the rooted if you can’t get to the meaningful. I can sense the meaningful, but it can’t be brought alive without the rootedness. It’s a very strange thing.

We can bring it all together in one image, and that’s the image of the view from the apartment overlooking The Strip. That view is something that you probably appreciate in terms of the lights in a regular way, as an aspect of creation. I appreciate it more as an aliveness that I see in the lights; it’s disjointed, but I do see the aliveness and the lights.

So what we are being asked is, “Can you see the lights and the appreciation of an aliveness in those lights, and hold the rootedness?” And, “Can I take the aliveness of those lights and find the rootedness, and therefore create a connection?

That’s what I think our dreams have been prompting in us.

Going Back In

John: Interesting. Here we have the second dream of the night (see The Dark Forces), exploring the same territory as the first dream (see Mission Possible). In the first dream it was a masculine aspect of you that was needed. That masculine aspect brought something through, which, in turn, triggered a knowing inside of you, because it is the nature of the feminine to carry everything complete and embodied within her, yet she needs it awakened from an unconscious state.

In this dream, you are in your feminine aspect – the viewpoint feels like you as you are in life. As the feminine, you’re proceeding in a natural way, guided by a knowing that you’re moving away from something that haunts you in some capacity. You are trying to reach the water, which represents your unconscious, and you are not deterred by whatever tries to block your way.

When you reach the water, you initially enter in a state that is neither unconscious nor fully conscious. We know this because there is the concern of you being smacked about by paddles and boats as you try to navigate this new horizon.

Ultimately, you rise above that aspect of the unconscious and you find yourself on a boat, which can take you on a journey to deeper inner territory and away from the limitations of yourself.

But all of a sudden you have a flashback to something in the past. It’s a memory of someone you knew and cared for, yet who, in the instance of the dream, represents an aspect of you. And you realize that this aspect of you still carries some dark energy, like being possessed or taken over. Through this habit or mannerism, you are infecting the people and things around you.

So you have made this wonderful journey out on the water, found yourself feeling free on the boat, and you’ve realized that you have developed a certain strength and confidence within you. You now feel the desire to go back and try to relate to this dense, lower-self force that is a vestige of your life when it was influenced by such lower-self nature.

When you go back to land, you realize that everything you see has been affected by this vibration of a lower nature. But you notice that as long as you don’t do anything to challenge it, or stir it up, you can move around safely in this arena of life.

However, you have a confusion, and the confusion stems from a sense of caring about things in terms of Creation. You can see, as you move in this “infected” environment, that you have been a part of it yourself. So your feeling is a desire to use the higher access you have gained – a recognition of your higher self –  in some way to try and create transformation or change.

Jeane: Or remembrance.

John: Or remembrance, yes, good word. I’m not sure that the dream quite tells you how this effort works out for you.

Jeane: You don’t expect it to work right. You just have to try.

John: True. So, the spiritual concept here is that you have to try to make this step back. You can’t open up all these levels inside yourself but not look back. Part of the journey is to bring what has been opened up, back down through the veils and to try and make a difference.

Jeane: And it’s partly because of the baby. Because there is hope for what has not yet been completely infected.

John: Ahhh. So, you find when you do this the first thing is to rescue the heart of something that’s most precious, that’s sitting in a state of innocence. Aha! Yes, that part is true.

Jeane: Then a martyr aspect comes through.

John: Yes, because you’re going to try to make a difference amongst people who don’t want to hear about this sort of thing. They’re caught up in what they’re caught up in, in their lower-self world-view, and yet you’re feeling that, because of your good graces…

Jeane: Well, not all the people, just the force that I was dealing with (represented by my friend).

John: You’re right. You’re looking at just the energy that’s the focal point of the problem. If you can change the source of the dark energy, everything else will change too?

Jeane: Yes.

John: And you’re going to be able to come up against this dark energy, something that in most instances you would avoid like the plague, because you can see how it’s affected everything else. You’re saying that you’ve reached a point where you’re compelled, and ready, to confront the source of this dark energy, rather than ignoring it or setting it aside. So that’s an important transition.

Mission Possible

Jeane: I had the first dream around 1am. I’ve been reading a book about spies lately, and it translated into this imagery.

So in the dream I’m male, and I’m a spy. At least that’s what everyone thinks, so I’m being chased. I have a very special camera – very high speed – that I recently got. As I’m being chased, I realize that even if they catch me, the things I’ve seen have already been recorded.

Basically, the pictures have been transmitted to the camera, and then have been downloaded. It doesn’t really matter if they catch me, because what’s been seen has already been seen.

John: That’s a deep dream, and it’s short and to the point.

What you’re saying is that you have already caught glimpses of something that is important and meaningful in life, and that has been downloaded into the depths of your being. Even though there will be moments, or periods of time, when the past will catch up with you, it won’t win out. Something has changed in you and there’s no going back.

It’s actually a very interesting dream, because it also gives us another example of how our dreams can help us on our spiritual journey. In this case, it’s your higher self that’s relating to you that it has been touched, it’s been reached. So now it’s alive – it’s on the move.

It’s like you’ve had a light bulb moment in relationship to your higher self, so even though the clarity of that moment may get fogged up from time to time, the connection has already had its effect. That’s why in the dream it doesn’t matter if you are caught – the exchange has been completed.

So it’s a wonderful dream. Can you tell it again? It will come out differently the second time. Because it’s so condensed and to the point, telling it again can bring it more alive.

Jeane: Okay. My persona is masculine, and I almost feel like a foreigner because I’ve been reading about spies in other countries. I have this very special camera, which sort of resides up in the sky.

As I see things, images are transmitted to the camera, which then transmits them somewhere else and downloads them. So, even though I’m running and realize that I might be caught, I also know that it doesn’t matter because the camera has already downloaded so much.

John: Ah, so what you’ve indicated in the retelling has added a further dimension to the process.

In both descriptions you indicated that you had a masculine persona. In the retelling, you indicated, by placing the camera up in the sky, the reason why: It’s a trait of the masculine to cause something to come down and through from above. When it does, it seeks to touch that which you are, which is the feminine in Creation, and cause something to open up. When that opens up, the download is made complete.

It’s like what we spoke about yesterday (see A Fundamental Process), where the masculine aspect provided the necessary trigger in you, and you were able to provide the grounding of that into life. Here again, the masculine aspect brings something from above, and needs to connect with the feminine aspect to allow the full download to take place.
