downloadWhen we reject, or dismiss, things we have set ourselves up to have to deal with them again in the future. That’s true for us as individuals, and it’s true for us as a civilization. The better process is to accept something as it is, and to then proceed from there, whether that means making efforts to improve it and refine it, or deciding to leave it as it is, or to let it wither and fade away from energetic neglect. Kicking the can down the road may make us feel better, in the now moment, but who knows what that can will come back to us as at a later date. Jeane: I had a headache, which kind of interfered with my dreaming last night. And what I remember most about the dream is it felt like I was trying to get away, or help some other people get away also.

And we ended up down at the convention center, where we were yesterday, but these four or five people had gone into a different area that supposedly was somewhat locked, and I wanted to get them out, but the only way I could think of getting them out is if I could rope them and pull them out.

I remember that part, and other than that I don’t remember the details as much as I feel like, in the dream, I was trying to get away, and making different moves to get away. But I wanted to get them free, too. I just remember the impression more than the details.

John: Well, what you’re dreaming is the first thing, the first part, in other words, whenever you’re confronted with something that is a bit overwhelming, or is going to take time to understand, or grasp, or catch up with, to absorb, the first reaction is kind of a defensive reaction. Whenever you’re presented with something that – speaking of it just in a great big general sense – is something that you have to, somehow or another, take into account in terms of your overall perception.

The challenge that you’re presented with, and it’s almost as if it’s always an over-the-top challenge, the challenge is to be able to put it into a stillness, to be at peace, or at rest, with it. Stillness is not a place that has a lot of tangibility to it because, with our senses and whatnot, we’re drawn out of that.

Yet whenever anything comes up that is affecting our perceptions in some way, that causes us to have to ponder, or see, and look at where we’re at, in relationship to the situation, our reaction, our tendency, is to do something that has a defense mechanism orientation. And everything that takes and works outside of pure stillness is a defense mechanism reaction.

And that every dialogue, every discussion, everything that goes on has underneath that, ladled underneath that, is a quality of separation that is a defense mechanism way of being. And rarely is there is a situation in which there isn’t something like that that exists.

So, on this level of unfoldment, that’s what the buying and selling looks like now. It’s a reaction that has that as its modality.

So you were essentially dreaming of being in an orientation in which you were presented with the option of letting go of it completely and being able to stay still with it, and not be affected by what was happening, or having to adopt a type of step-back position. And so you were looking at, and it’s important to look at this stuff, too, because it’s part of the path of looking at the degrees and in the areas in which one takes a step-back position. In other words, this is another octave.

See, most people’s understanding of stillness has to do with being able to be quiet, and watching, as if they’re gathering more information and holding a reserve. But there is another level of stillness in which you don’t even do that as a defense mechanism. Can you see how you were watching that?

It’s a good spot to look at. It’s a good way to look at things. What is good about that is that enables you to accept everything, and, when you accept something, then that leads to a stillness – because not being able to accept something in some capacity or another is a step back. It’s a type of defense mechanism.

a22spIt’s nice to think that we always face things head-on, with confidence. But, as we discover, not all parts of our nature have equal amounts of confidence. It’s true in waking life, and it’s true in our dreams. Here we find a woman on the run, hiding and being followed. Yet, since we are all the characters in our dreams, we can also see that there is also a wooing going on, as wary lovers try to find the best way to accommodate each other – so they may begin their future together. (At the end of this post there are instructions and a link to download this recording to your computer.)

Jeane: I didn’t think I was going to be able to remember any dream from last night because I kept coughing; had a headache. But towards morning I had a dream and, in that dream, it feels like I’m a woman. I have some children. I’m living with a man, but I take the kids and I run away from him.

And I seem to go to something like a villa, somewhere in Italy, and the villa is kind of in a little village where they have all these white stone walls, stucco walls. And I’m hiding out there, and I seem to like it because it has good music.

There is a man there at the villa, but I can’t tell if I’m actually with him, or if I avoid him sometimes. It seems like I do both. And then there’s a woman who brings the man I had run away from to the villa, or the little village. Sometimes it’s like she helps me hide, and sometimes she helps him find where we are.

I also remember that there was a garden area with some marble steps and, at the top, there were these headstones that were partially made out of leather and alabaster. And they were the carvings that represented some famous lovers who had been buried there. I think they were performers of some kind, singers or something,

And you could kind of pull a little bit on the stone and it would come forward, and you could see the statue and the carvings. And then you pushed it back a bit and it tucked itself into the leather, which helped protect it from the elements.

I think three different statues there representing famous people that had been buried, one was this couple, and the other I don’t know who they were. And then it seems like I’m trying to keep a certain freedom, but I also have the kids there. It just wasn’t a real clear dream to me.

John: It wasn’t a real clear dream because you’re hiding from something that’s trying to break itself through. Even the headaches you have, that you pretend have something to do with dust and this, that, and the other, are actually the result of something trying to awaken, or come through. And you have these headaches as kind of a dense nature that you carry to try to keep things in check.

It seems that there really is something to this idea that a person who gets on a spiritual path gets to a particular point where physically they can break down, or start to suffer more. And, of course, a lot of it’s easily explained from the standpoint that they get more sensitive, or something, and they can’t eat like they normally eat, and require circumstances to be a little different.

And, in this particular case, in your particular case, your whole dream went into describing and portraying this whole quality that you have in which you are doing things that peek at, and yet somehow or another, work with, hold in some aspect of your nature, that which you protect.

In other words, you have these kids that you run away with, that are your kids. And then you have this peekaboo way that you deal with the masculine, with what you find there. But what you’re saying in that is that there is a setting in which what is important and necessary for something to come out, in terms of how it is that you need to be, well, that you’re sitting veiled in, yet you have your moments in which something comes out, and you do have a sense of what it is that has to be protected.

And then you take and you repeat that, in another way, where you see these statues or whatever and you realize that if moved forward they have one kind of dynamic; pushed back, left in a kind of staleness of the past, they have another look. And yet somehow or another you have a sense of the before, or of the timeless beyond.

And, the thing is, your dream, this dream that you were able to pull out, you weren’t able to pull out the other dreams before because the other dreams before would have involved you breaking through, confronting a physical dimension, that is there, because the subtle loudness behind the denseness of the physical dimension is something that is being kept in check yet by the outer quality of your nature.

It’s being kept in check for some reason because the time isn’t fully right, or ripe, for it to come out, apparently. Yet you have the peekaboo with it. And so, when you mentioned the headache, I immediately saw that this was correlated to something that inside of you that is trying to find its way. And the outer circumstances, the effect of the physical outer, is imposing this limitation.

The way that you work with that, or struggle with that, is causing you to slowly break through it – yet you don’t break through it as naturally as you could and, as a consequence, you have headaches and such. And, of course, almost in answer to a frustration, you have this dream.

And the dream portrays this little quality of, you might say, a scoping out that is occurring in a very steady and unfolding capacity. That’s interesting.

What a theme huh? Because the theme had to do with being able to recognize and identify a quality of a deeper innerness that’s at the depth of a person’s nature and being, even though outer appearances could easily, and tend to, suggest otherwise, because it’s the outer appearances that predominate, or appear to predominate, most of the time. Rarely is a person able to see through the outer appearances to denote what is trying to move around within.

king-adSometimes, as we near the very thing we want, we can then feel the greatest urge to run away. Because what we are heading for has power in it, and, as we get closer to the power, we begin to see and understand what that power will require of us, and what we will have to give up, and what we will have to do, and how we will have to be, to hold on to such power. Ultimately, if we stay with it, it will be the best trade-off imaginable – the best deal in the universe, in fact – yet we will still experience fear as we let go to it more and more. (At the end of this post there are instructions and a link to download this recording to your computer.)

Jeane: In the dream that I remember, I seem like I’m in my 20s or something, and I’m traveling with a troop of people that travel by horseback and with tents. It’s like there’s a king or someone who’s in charge, and I share a tent, but sleeping on separate cots with a woman and another man who, it feels like there’s something they want from me, but as long as I can kind of sleep in my separate cot, and a I have a certain protection from the king, it’s like they can’t take it yet.

So I’m always kind of on the lookout because as long as I can kind of keep that little bit of distance it feels like whatever I have is more protected. And I did have at least one special horse also, and it’s like the king needs me in whatever conflict it is that he has going on so, I have a certain amount of protection although I have to be really careful to make sure they don’t try to creep into my bed at night, or something, because there’s something that they want to steal.

And then it feels like after some significant battle, where everything is a little more relaxed, I have this feeling that, you know, in this more relaxed state like the king might kind of back off, and maybe whatever they want to do that they might get away with it.

So I manage to sneak off. I go down a trail that they don’t notice. It’s more deserted, and not many people traveling on it, but in order to really get away so that they don’t notice, it’s like I have to leave my favorite horse behind.

And there’s another horse that I take, that I travel with, and after going on this kind of odd, more deserted trail, then I also go down a different direction, and I have something with me that seems to mow; I pretend almost like I’m mowing a trail with some kind of a mower but, of course, I’m not really mowing the way you would if you were clearing a whole trail. I’m just doing one single patch down to get as far as I can from where they are so I can make a getaway.

The only thing I’m sad about is it feels like I have to leave the horse that I would usually ride behind because, if I had taken that horse, they would have noticed me. So I have another horse, or another vehicle with me, to make my getaway. That’s all I really remember of the dreaming.

John: Well, the setting you’re in is a setting that, if you were able to truly accept it, and see it for all that it is, is a setting in which there’s a wholeness. In other words, you’re traveling under the sphere of power, under the protection of power. And power is energy, and energy is light, and light is clarity. And you have the auspices that come from the top down.

In other words, the whole caravan of things, the whole movement, the whole action is under the guidance of the king. However, for whatever particular reason, there is something about you that doesn’t quite get the significance of the spatiality that you’re in. And you feel that you have some personal prerogatives that you can turn to, that you can place at your disposal, and, when you do that, you break the overallness that you’re in – which is easy to do because you’re not truly getting it.

In other words, you have little aspects that are still rising up inside of you to give you an opinion about this, and an opinion about that. So you’re not really realizing the fullness, or the wholeness, or the oneness. And so, to the degree that you go out and try to create your own thread, or make your own path, you give up on power.

You lose the pristine fine line of the connection, which is represented by your special horse, and you have to go off in ways that still have a certain power to them, but they’re of a more limited, personal, and designed capacity. And that sort of thing keeps you in an amnesia, or distant, from how it is that you could be.

In other words, it’s like the position you’re in, in the setting of the dream, has a potentiality about it – if you could let go and just fully take it in, knowing that you are part of all of that in every aspect and regard and, therefore, the aliveness, the action of that, is complete in and of itself. If you were able to truly note that as your beingness, that is connected to an inner knowingness, and therefore you are okay with the exclusive oneness and overallness, everything would be fine.

But for whatever reason that memo isn’t quite all there, isn’t loud enough, and so you go off on your own and create veils as you follow your own personal prerogative. But,,, there’s still the thread of a horse in that sense and there’s always the possibility of backtracking your steps because you are making an extension, or a spoke, that extends off. And so it’s not like you can really get away. You’re just extending outwardly, which is not like you can actually really get away.

In other words, you could backtrack that spoke to where you come to know the true inner action of your beingness, and/or it’s like something could happen yet to where it could still stalk, or haunt, you because it’s not like you have your favorite horse. You’ve left the favorite horse back there, so it’s not like what you have can actually go very far, or go very fast.
