The Unraveling Zone

UnravelingMysteryIf we think of the outer, physical world as being a very dense state, the development of our spiritual nature begins to lift us out of that density. As we elevate our lives, the process becomes more and more internal, and more and more subtle. Through it all, we are dealing with the inner aspects of ourselves, slowly letting go of what weighs us down energetically and prevents us from our deeper connections. John: So, the dreaming last night started off in a way that, to begin with, the first part of it was so over-the-top – you talking building blocks and me talking some other space that was just almost impossible to get one’s grasp in terms of reconciling.

This was almost like a viewpoint from somewhere beyond what one is capable of having a proper or balanced viewpoint about. This is where you’re still in the unraveling zone of yourself. And then it kind of comes down and breaks down into something then that you now tangibly are able to relate to. In other words, that is within the schematics and the scope of how you’ve evolved.

And you just described a scenario like that in which there comes a point in time where everything seems to be against you, because it only responds to a certain perspective and way, and it gets to the point that, as you perceive on more and more other levels, you get to a point where you go beyond the means to be able to explain, or to iterate, why it is that you are the way you are.

Much like Khidr had this problem with Moses, in which Moses had as he was destined to open up in a particular way and was fairly advanced to be able to even have an awareness of the Khidr, he still was caught in his motifs, and in his beliefs, and in his dense mannerisms, and still had a hard time keeping up with Khidr.

And thus, however, Moses must have had a certain kind of sincerity in that even though he objected to what Khidr did, he didn’t reject Khidr and, as a consequence, he put himself into a process by which he could evolve and pick up speed and come to understand these other levels as they were shown to him, or as they opened up for him.

Now, we have done that, in terms of taking and going inside of ourselves and dealing with our shadows, and dark natures, and stuff and then would come out, and now have to contend with that in the conditions that are around us. And some of those conditions we don’t just take upon ourself as if that’s us. We can be free of that.

But we still have to then work to be like the vacuum cleaner, or something, to sweep, or absolve, or to lift all of that stuff up because, as your dream indicated, if we don’t do that, then it affects other whole levels of what can be possible. And, of course, as we come into a perception like this, and as that perception comes to make itself known to the environment around us, we get rejected because we are disturbing the cadence that that ordinary setness carries.

Your dream started pointing out, of course, that it gave you a reason and an explanation at the very beginning in the huge expanse of the start of the building block chemistry of everything that you are, and then went into kind of a live example of, okay, now here you are. Okay, let’s cut down the sci-fi part a bit, and now here you are, and this is what goes on as a consequence of you being at least having scratched the surface a bit.

And that flow, that manner of evolvement, of kind of going from over-the-top to down in terms of opening something up is how my dream progressed, too, and it also leads to a lot of sorrow. It leads to a sorrow because you sit and you don’t know, then, after having pushed something beyond its means of digestion and ability to take in, you don’t know what is going to happen.

It could completely blow up. Can it pull it together? It gets knocked into a point of mannerism in which it needs a grace, or it needs something, and what is shocking is our proximity to this, our ability to see this. Our ability to feel that pain is a type of prayer, is a type of forgiveness, is a type of pulling something through for that part of the building block of ourself that is out of the equation.

Now, it’s important for that building block of ourself to try to surrender, and try to render, and to try to pray, too, to hope for the linkage, and the connection, and the grace to have the recognition that is needed, instead of the struggle, and the defense mechanism.

And that’s the process, and that’s the game, and that’s kind of how life is, and that’s kind of a depiction of what a Sufi is, too, in relationship to life, in relationship to a facilitator, or an idiot of God.

And, as a consequence of contending and dealing with the levels, because they have to be dealt with or otherwise you end up with things getting contangled and misjangled and, of course, they’re very contangled and misjangled right now, and so the degree to which things are going to swish and swash and flip and flop is intensified.

A Force of Nature

Force-Of-NatureIn this conversation between John and Ann, the territory of spiritual development is discussed. When one is on the spiritual path, the changes that occur on an inner, energetic, level begin to radiate outward. Other people may sense this new energy unconsciously, yet depending on their own openness, the energy can either awaken something in them, or it can cause an allergic reaction to the more potent processes at play. Navigating these changes can test of a person’s resolve to stay on the path. (At the end of this post there are instructions and a link to download this recording to your computer.)

John: Have you been having good energetics in the morning?

Ann: Oh my goodness yes. It’s just incredible. Last week when you mentioned the shift, oh my goodness.

John: The thing about the energetics that one has in the morning is: do you ever feel like you are getting too carried away, like you’re on speed, too animated about things?

What do you think about that when you get like that?

Ann: Sometimes I think: what is that all about?

John: Are you okay being like that?

Ann: Umm, for the most part, but when I catch myself being way too speeded up it’s like there’s sort of an in-between state there, but when I’m too speeded up sometimes I’m usually okay with it, but then sometimes I have to just sit and relax a little bit and bring the energy down a little bit.

John: What you’re doing is you’re pulling it down and grounding it, and when you’re speeding up what you’re doing is you’re tending to get a little bit transcendent, or out of body, with the soul.

And so when you get a little ungrounded or out of body with the soul you tend to… you have an energetic speed and effectiveness and it’s something that is intriguing to others, but it’s something that you have to be a little bit careful of because around people that are denser, or have a more limited world, or are stuck in the need of power and control, you’re apt to ruffle feathers very quickly.

Ann: And lately it’s like it’s really happening with people around; I’ve seen that.

John: That’s kind of why it’s said that you kind of get to a point, if you’re not grounding yourself and bringing it down, you’re going to get to kind of a point where you’re going to develop maybe new friends, and alienate the older ones that are used to you – because you can’t be like that anymore like you used to be.

Luckily, I think it’s slow enough, and subtle enough, that it’s generally not that dynamic a principle of being that harsh, and it’s more along the lines where one buys the belief or illusion, that in the speeded-up sense that you’re at, that you can communicate this across to others.

You can go on that treadmill for a long, long time, until you realize that people are just lilting in the energetic that you are carrying in a speeded-up way. They learn that they only create anxiety with themselves when they fight it.

They know that they can’t readily accept it as them, but they know it’s not untrue because their body tells them it feels okay. But what it does is, to the degree to which you’re affected and communicating like this, you’re stimulating the etheric and you’re stimulating the unconscious in them, and often times you can make their world miserable for them and not even realize it, because you quicken something before they’re ready to be quickened with it.

And yet how can you be any other way? Now the problem is, if you’re yourself, and you’re doing this, what generally happens is you tend to take it on yourself in a self-conscious way, and you figure oh, I have to tone it back, I have to deaden it, I have to go slower, I have to become a little… you need to cloud yourself a little bit, shut down the animation and the speed.

When you do that then you get poisoned, because now you’re agreeing to go along with the lowest common denominator, so that doesn’t quite work. And so what happens is you’re animated in the morning, and then you find yourself having to comport with the environment that you’re in, and by afternoon you can be a complete idiot again. And then every day it’s like that and then you sit there and you will say, why am I throwing away this energetic?

And you are throwing it away because you are feeling that to live this, you’re doing something unnatural – and yet you’re being your natural self.

Ann: Isn’t that interesting how that works?

John: When you are in an acuity like this, you often times have senses of things that may or may not be quite true, in terms of your understanding of say something scientific or something, but on an energetic level, it is true. That’s why there were things that the teacher used to say that weren’t exactly always true, but on an energetic level, the vibration that she was in, was entirely true.

That’s why there are stories that are told, like the training that Moses went through with Khidr, where Khidr did all kinds of things that were, from an outward perspective, really wrong, and yet on a vibrational level it was what was important. The outer appearance was not meaningful, nor the detail necessarily was not absolute in any regard. It was just kind of like something that lilts across in relationship to the space that you’re in.

But the space that you’re in is what is real and that’s what needs to be heard. So if the space you’re in is such that it violates the space of someone else who’s more nailed down in their being, then you’re going to create lots of commotion and turmoil.

Where you will make something dangerous for yourself is if you happen to confront somebody who is fearful, because in their fear they may then take whatever it is that you’re doing, without saying anything, treat it as the enemy, and start taking defensive postures against it so that they don’t have to face something in themselves that they’re not ready, or able, to face – and that is a kind of ignorance.

Generally speaking though they just walk away from you. Generally the people you know are good people and they just realize okay, okay, okay out of my politeness, meaning them talking to themselves, rather than get all worked up about it, which is what they would have to do because you have gone and you’ve tripped something in their unconscious; they’ll just get up and walk away.

That’s what this new energy, you’ve got to be careful with, because this new energy coming in lends itself to a way of alienating yourself from others, because you can so easily blow them away and you can maybe perhaps get to the idea, okay, this is the way I’m going to be, and then if you’re like that, then you’re a wrecking machine in terms of how others bounce away from you, or bounce off of you, and have to maintain their motif so as to not be penetrated.

It’s kind of similar, if you think, to the principle of how meditation works. It’s a little bit along those lines. When you first start meditating your meditations are miserable because it’s garbage that’s coming up – and more so than usual because you’re giving things permission to be like that.

So then when you reach a certain freedom, and you start exuding that freedom, on an energetic vibrational level, now you become a force of nature that is doing this to others, right out in the open, no meditation involved. You’re bringing something straightaway right into life.

So what happens is a lot of people then get to thinking that they have got to be a bit transcendent. Instead of bringing it down, they have to be more transcendent, and if you get more transcendent you can take yourself out of life, and you could become something that’s not relatable by others, because you are not finding the intertwined similitude that goes beyond the appearances of the physical.

You’re not submitting yourself to finding that, to touching that; paying the price of whatever that is. So the more you can be in the physical, the more grounded you can be, the more you can carry across this transcendent state, which is like the statement now of, feet on the ground head, in the heavens, or something.

You can actually marry those two states as a Oneness.

A Deeper Faith

John: The thing we have to look at in life is a need to realize that we’re playing with a level of magic. And to reach that magic we need to learn how to let go of things without causing too great an indulgence.

An indulgence can come in many ways. It can be nothing more than a tone, or a mannerism, that we take on, as if we’re entitled to take it on. Or it can involve the rising up, in our nature, of anything other than the qualities of attentiveness and compassion. And an indulgence can involve our automated reactions to our life experiences.

My dream is set in medieval times – there are castles and everything. I find myself, and the group I’m with, being overrun by invading forces who have swept through the land and taken over.

Instead of running or retreating, however, our teacher keeps us pressing on into the territory that’s just been taken from us. It’s like we’re ignoring what’s happened and we’re heading right into the enemy’s reinforcements.

The enemy has decimated our position and left us powerless. We don’t even have weapons to defend ourselves. Still, rather than give up, or retreat, or regroup, the teacher has us proceeding along, as if he knows something the invaders don’t.

I can sense that the enemy closely monitors every move we make. They see us out in the open, instead of being wise and pulling back. The teacher seems fully aware of what he’s doing – he even says that we’re getting very close to where we may be subject to an ambush.

I complain about not having any weapons to defend an attack, which seems imminent. The teacher agrees. Our movements are like a display of deep inner faith, because nothing about our circumstances indicates that these are the actions we should take.

Then the dream shifts, and I notice that there’s a veil that separates us from the invading forces. A moment earlier it felt like we were surrounded and our every move was observed. Now it feels like we’re not as helpless as I thought. With this shift, I can see a barrier separating us from the enemy.

I also had an earlier image where I saw a dog lunge forward to take food right out of my hand.

The meaning of these dreams is that there’s a place deep inside in which trust defies the limitations of the outer. They show that, first and foremost, I must trust and abide in my inner connections. If I get too enamored at what I have externally, or I think that I’m holding a particular space (symbolized by territory or food) that’s important, something can come at any moment and take it away from me.

In other words, if my attachments are too heavily based in the physical realms rather than the spiritual realms, then the “invaders” can swoop in and take it. Even the dog, which is a symbol of friendship, will snatch what I hold onto right out of my hand.

However, if I can follow my inner guidance and ignore outer appearances, I can thread myself through any obstacle. It’s when I react to what outer appearances imply or suggest, and let them guide my actions – like retreating in fear – I throw away my inner connection and my trust. Then I can only live in constant fear of losing myself or, I live in a fear in which I do lose myself.

The forces in outer life will always be bigger than I am, because what is hidden actually yields to them, or stays dormant in the presence of them. It is only by me trusting in what is hidden, trusting that I’m in good hands, can I help bring what is hidden out into the open – into life.

Next I have an image that adds information to these dreams. I mean, I could say that something’s missing from the first image because the kind of trust that’s being asked for, few people in their right mind would be able to muster, unless they had “heard” some guidance.

It’s like the story in the Quran where Moses meets the “Servant of God,” later identified as Khidr. Moses asks to accompany him in order to learn, and is told that he has to abide by whatever Khidr does and not question him. Moses agrees, yet each time Khidr takes an action, Moses, shocked by what he sees, always questions what has been done.

It’s not until Moses has broken his promise for the last time and the two must part that Khidr reveals the true compassion behind his actions, a compassion that was hidden from Moses because of his limited viewpoint.

So, in this dream I’m shown a force that has four levels to it. I’m told that the last person to approach this force inadvertently awoke a lion ferocity that had been asleep therein.

As fearful as I feel, I can’t help but notice that the roaring ferocity of the lion is only active on the first level, but that there are three other levels that are still dormant. My sense is that these three levels can only come into being (be awakened) when one has stilled the first level.

In other words, what’s required to pass the first level is to not react to the ferocity of the lion. The law of the lion who is rudely awakened is that he controls the appearance of the present.

In other words, as in the prior image where the invaders seemed to have every visible advantage, there’s still more to consider than what’s immediately discernible. If we react to the most obvious – our external reality, the invaders, a ferocious lion – it becomes the only level we see and experience. In a sense, the strength of our reaction (the ferocity of the lion) confirms it as our reality. Yet that’s a very limited viewpoint that cuts us off from deeper levels of knowing and inner guidance.
